State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

Define "normal". Left-handedness is not "normal" in the sense that it is a minority of the population. The "norm" is to be right-handed, and as thus left-handers are not part of the "norm".

Too many people, though, have come to include, consciously or subconsciously, equating 'normal' as 'weird' or 'wrong', which is wholly incorrect. Left-handedness is abnormal in that it is not the majority, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it.

correct thanks for supporting the fact that normal is subjective and nothing more

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

Do you remember when you went LMAO, laughing like a deranged loon?

You said it was still there then.

Guess you were wrong & just laughing like a fool for nothing...

yes i did laugh at you because you called it an option and said its gone,
Because an option that was there before, that some people liked, will no longer be there?

well guess what genius, you still have the option to call yourself that, that didnt go anywhere

so i was 100% right and it seems that not only do you not understand how this works you dont understand English either.
Sorry YOU were wrong

LMAO

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

It changes the entire definition of marriage for everyone getting married ...to accomodate a handful of I want what I want when I want and you HAVE to do what I wants...its garbage

no it didnt do that at all

husband and wife are still acceptable terms

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

Is this another one of those things where statistics are misleading depending on how they're used?

"More" people? Percentage-wise, or raw numbers-wise? If percentage, that'd be a great stat. If raw numbers, well... duh!... heterosexuals vastly outnumber homosexuals to begin with, so it makes perfect sense that more would engage in anal sex.

Not unlike pointing out that more white people collect welfare, but a much higher percentage of black people collect welfare. The same stats can be carefully chosen to portray whatever you want them to portray, hence do they really portray anything?

I do wonder how anybody knows, this, btw. :2razz:

Raw numbers wise last I checked, though I'm not sure if the study I read counted lesbians in their study, or just gay men. Though percentage wise nearly half of all straight Americans have participated in anal sex. My point was that it's silly to talk about anal sex as something exclusive to the gay community.

Also, it's funny that these discussions tend to end up on attacks homosexual males, and seem to forget us gals. I guess we're not as offensive

Yes, equal rights, real ****ing shame!!!

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

There will always be exceptions, of course, in both gay and straight couples. But, they are just that, exceptions, not the general rule itself.

You are seeing it more and more in straight couples, though, as it is becoming more socially accepted for the exceptions to exist openly. Forty years ago societal peer pressure would have precluded many men from staying home as "house husbands". Today, not so much.

Will we ever reach a point where traditional gender roles are split roughly 50/50? I don't think so. I think nature plays its predominate role in this regard. The social progress that we will make will be in accepting those who don't neatly fit the stereotype.

Except that evolving roles is the new norm. Men being more active in child rearing and household duties, women more active in the workforce and repair work.

No, changing what married people are called on a government form is not changing the definition of marriage. And your "handful" of people where the majority of voters in the state.

easy all they did is simplify the form LMAO

is it no longer legal to be husband and wife? yes of course it is

like i said earlier some form i filled out for jobs didnt have a correct way to fill race out, does that mean i no longer am that race of i dont exist? of course not

if anything the definition was added to it wasnt taken away.

How will it change YOUR marriage if some other couple gets married?

It will not change the definition of your marriage. Only you and your spouse can define your marriage.

Yes, equal rights, real ****ing shame!!!

Equal my ass...gays are the FEW that are different...if you want to get married decide whos going to play hubby and whos going to play wife and leave everything ALONE for the 94% who arent different

They changed it on the license application. My marriage certificate never said bride and groom.

Allowing them to get married is EQUAL rights not changing the definition or what marriage is called...two men want to get married let them pick which one is going to wear the panties and leave the rest of the people alone...the voters didnt vote to CHANGE what marriage is..they voted to allow gay marriage...lets keep in mind most states vote that down

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

What is changing except two lines on a government form?
Are you offended when a form has a line for spouse?

These are the same people that get offended when they see a language other than English on government documents.

.... Who is going to play hubby and wife? I cook, clean, do laundry and still find time to make money. Does that make me the husband or wife?

re: State to Eliminate “Bride” & “Groom” on Marriage Certificates [W:303]

Well then what is your objection to this again?

Its not even my objection. I dont have a dog in the fight, but if you look at the thread (& even more at the wider world) other people do & it was avoidable in many cases.

Ive never seen the sense in rules, or laws, that piss people off when a better option could have been provided.

I dont understand why anyone would want to argue with that position.

no one did that and now you are just being dishonest in calming so and the rest is offensive nonsense

Do you wear panties ?? the form should remain HUSBAND AND WIFE...whats next they are going to write a law I have to call my wife my partner so as not to offend a handful of people that are differnt and overbearing suckers...lol...pfffffffffffffft

No, I am going to be someone's wife one day, and I will have a wife. I will be hers, and she will be mine, and that is the end of it. Seriously, this isn't one side dominating the other, this is about being fair to everyone. Allowing everyone to live equally under the law, I don't want to put anyone down, it is you that wants to do that.
