Assange Speaks to UN

You know, there's an entire thread for this. It's called the Conspiracy Theory thread. You can be there with the 9/11 doubters and the moon landing nutjobs and the UFO folks.

We're not talking conspiracy here. We are enlightening those in the dark that in Capitalism/Corporatism the major media, whether it be print or digital sell their space to the highest bidder. That would be business. Assange released enbarrassing documents about the USA gov't and that is why they want to get him to Sweden so they can extradite him to the USA as an "enemy of the state." If a lack of intellectual curiousity has prevented you from confronting the truth, try sleeping on your right side with a walnut under the right ear and a round pebble between your big toe and your second toe. If it doesn't work, call it a conspiracy theory. It will surely make me feel better.

Manning didn't do that by himself. There's no way that a private first class, with less than 24 months time in service has that kind of access.

As cpwill said, rank has little to do with access. The main issue is that it was so easy to download large amounts of information on to removable media. Removable media drives and ports should be disabled on those systems. It wouldn’t prevent leaks, but it would reduce the size of them by several orders of magnitude.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to steal classified documents and publish classified materials that may impact national security. Manning should remain in jail.

Is there a thread in which you don't bring up "the Great Wurlitzer"? Have you ever considered admitting yourself to a mental hospital?

Video @: Assange Speaks to UN - YouTube

Assange speaks to UN panel and calls on US, UK and Sweden and speaks to respect free speech, and protect whistle blowers, and to free Bradly Manning. Ecuador and others try to convince the US, UK, and Sweden to allow safe passage and go back to Sweden to try to clear up these "sexual acts" allegations.

Espionage usually isn't protected by freedom of speech.

Doesn't have SIPR access? Uh...yeah, they do.

 not necessarily. Manning apparently was able to bring CD's into the SCIF claiming that they were music and walk right out with them, again and again and again. He had personality issues, so they put him in charge of disposing of classified documents.... meaning that everyone gave him all the classified documents they weren't using for their work anymore. It was a huge CI failure, and sadly I think one we have not fully corrected. When you reduce people in rank, you need to yank their access. With Manning, instead we put him in the perfect position to screw us over.
I don't buy it. I've seen higher security protocols used to draw a copy of the CEOI from the supply room.

Like hell it doesn't.

 whether you buy it or not, those are the facts of the case.

Bradly Manning or Assange are spies?

yup. the legal case is especially strong against Manning, and the relevant punishment is death.

which is precisely as it should be. people died because of that a--hole.

Yet still you remain in this terrible country, taking advantage of everything it has to offer!:lamo And yeah, I somehow surmised that if you were old enough, you'd have been one of the cretins burning U.S. flags and flying those of North Vietnam.

I'll make the same suggestion to you I made to your Socialist friend. Visit the Conspiracy Theory forum - you'll find lots of like minds there.

I got news for you. I served durng the vietnam/american war period 64-67,, honorable discharge, good conduct, spec 5, so I earned the right to live here and exercise my free speech. I have a better idea. Why don't you leave since you hate free speech.

What the ****? So if you think Assange just dumped a bunch of classified files in a half-hearted attempt for 'transparency'

Wikileaks didn't do a "half hearted attempt" at transparency. That's what they've been doing for longer than what they did with the US Docs. They've done the same thing with other countries also.

and that Manning didn't break not only UCMJ but also his legal non-disclosure agreement, you're just being duped by the corporate media? Seriously?

Manning is definitely a traitor.

I demonize him because he's a rapist who isn't man enough to face up to the charges. Plus, personality wise, he seems like an asshole.

No he is not a rapist. The women that he supposedly "raped" consented. Even they did not want charges pressed. The prosecutor took it upon herself to press charges.

Alot of the material in there actively degraded US efforts to stabilize chaotic regions of the world - to include source names. Oddly, some of the most active downloaders were located in Central Asia, and some of those sources started disappearing shortly thereafter.

Mind you, we found some of them again. A piece here, a piece there....

Like hell it doesn't.

dude. in the intel field, thats their job. asking whether or not an intel E3 has access to the secured networks is like asking if an infantry E3 has access to an M16.

that;s what whisltes blowers do - they break laws and confidentiality agreements for HIGHER MORAL CAUSES

What do you think should happen to the executioners in the helicopters who gunned down unarmed innocent Civilians?

Did they break any laws?

Who will be prosecuted for the 1.4 million Iraqi civilian deaths that were a direct and indirect result of ILLEGAL military actions by the USA?

But as we all know, fascist rule doesnt recognise morals and laws does it mr OldWordlOrder?

What do we do with the whistle blower Chemist who made authorities and the public aware of what the Tobacco corporations were putting into their cigarettes to accelerate the uptake and addiction to Nicotine?

He had a non-disclosure agreement attached to his employment too.

You seem to value one petty law that protects profits and criminals over higher morals and the general health and safety of the population who are unaware of what is going on.

You do realise what that makes you dont you?

Sure they did. If wikileaks was actually interested in total transparency, they'd reveal their "insurance" documents- those that they've threatened to release if Assange were ever tried. But they're not, because they believe in secrecy to advance their own purposes. Just like the governments they wish to repudiate.

So? Someone said, in response to a poster talking about Manning leaking information, that that was what the corporate media wanted people to think. I responded that it's pretty factual, not dependent on 'the corporate media'. And you responded with...? Okay? Does that change the facts? No.

What do you think should happen to the executioners in the helicopters who gunned down unarmed innocent Civilians?

Nothing at all, obviously. They saw people with large equipment in a denied area that had just suffered an ambush.

Did they break any laws?

Nope. They're fine.

Who will be prosecuted for the 1.4 million Iraqi civilian deaths that were a direct and indirect result of ILLEGAL military actions by the USA?

  1.4 million? Why not just make it a trillion? Anyway, no one will be prosecuted. Why should they be?

But as we all know, fascist rule doesnt recognise morals and laws does it mr OldWordlOrder?

Nope. Are you going to cry about it?

What do we do with the whistle blower Chemist who made authorities and the public aware of what the Tobacco corporations were putting into their cigarettes to accelerate the uptake and addiction to Nicotine?

I don't know or care.

He had a non-disclosure agreement attached to his employment too.

Then he should probably be prosecuted?

You seem to value one petty law that protects profits and criminals over higher morals and the general health and safety of the population who are unaware of what is going on.

Don't push your morals on me, please.

You do realise what that makes you dont you?

A corporate puppet?

Yay! I was right! The conspiracy theorist thinks I'm a corporate puppet!

!

Denied area?

Thats what the Nazi Germans said when they occupied France and most of Europe.

In fact, the Nazis classified the French resistance as a terrorist organisation

Why did the USA invade IRaq again that has resulted in 1.4 million civilian deaths?

Why are US oil corporations extracting oil in Iraq?

Who the hell are you fascist imperialist murdering freaks?

This is the Flag you honour and protect - looks a bit different from the flag that True Patriot Americans raise doesnt it!?
