Democratic Rep. Tim Bishop (N.Y.) appears to have extorted a $5,000 donation from a wealthy constituent who needed help obtaining some government permits, according to Politico.

Misleading title (I know that's not your fault), but nothing has been proven so far.

This is a he said/ he said with Semler and Bishop.

They are going to have a hard time proving fault with Bishop considering this was a conversation that was niether recorded or can be proven to have happened.

If Bishop really did this, he is a slimeball and needs to be removed. However, right now this is just an accusation and not proven.
