All the recent news surrounding Mayor Bloomberg's soda ban has left a lot of people talking about an infringement of personal rights. But compared to Singapore's notorious limitations, our soda law is small potatoes.
Singapore law is full of odd restrictions on personal acts, some of which are comical in their absurdity and others threatening in their limitations.

Bloomberg played his cards well. Liberals will love him for this one.

New York has little to no respect for family values at all, so you end up with tons of kids brought up in Harlem, the Bronx, or wherever that don't learn to take care.

What he was doing was making up for the lack of adequate parenting, but now, people are whining like the babies they are.

Ergo, consumerism will march onward, and there will be increased demand for government health care, business regulations, and social work in the future.

*Waits for liberals to ask "How does drinking soda increase demand for health care?"*

Are the absurd laws in Singapore to show what will happen if Americans don't stop their elected officials from enacting laws that infringe on our personal freedoms?

You got to ask Business Insider.
