Since we all need a good chuckle: Church of Scientology asks followers to censor Web comments | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

The message instructs followers to visit media sites, including Microsoft, Google or any other that requires users to agree to a code of conduct that prohibits comments that threaten, defame or degrade any group or individuals.

Followers should hunt for any comments about the Cruise-Holmes divorce or Scientology, and click the "Report Abuse" button and report the comments as violations of the site's code of conduct, the email instructs.

Scientology's answer to how to handle negative publicity: be assholes.

Edit: and yes I know the thread title is inaccurate, but the BN rules say it must match the source title, so it is not my fault. Blame Vauge.

That's it. I'm going to flood Facebook with posts about how evil and cultish Scientology is, and how their brainwashing drugs must have worn off since Katie Holmes ran screaming from them and all they stand for.

That's Scientology for you. The whole thing is a scam and they need to try to make it look like it's not by using intimidation practices to silence dissent. Scientology should be categorized as a cult.

For what? It's not like I said we should do the whole Janet Reno thing and trap them all in a building then set it on fire.

Now come on. It's not like the whole religion sounds like a 2nd rate science fiction author came up with it...

Yeah, it could be no better than a 3rd rate author to come up with that bologna.

everyone should watch the south park episode trapped in the closet.the episode isnt shown on regular tv because scientologists threw a fit and threw their money around.

the episode is still available on south parks website.

I love this Scientology ****.

I just love that, where everyone rightly makes fun of Scientology and it's absurd beliefs, they can turn right around and defend any other religion, which is just as absurd.

Right? "Souls in a volcano and a galactic empire millions of years old? That's crazy talk! Now a virgin birth, talking snakes and two of every animal in the Ark? Now you're making sense!"

I prefer the Mormon episode, but that one is hilarious.

I don't know if it's absurd. I think there are some good things that can come of religion in general. But I'll never pass by an opportunity to make fun of Scientology. In my opinion, it's the biggest insult to our intelligence out of the entire lot.

Was Katie ever a Scientologist and why are people saying they broke up?

And that's not absurd?

LOL, its beliefs aren't really the problem.

She belonged to the Church with Tom, yes. And they filed for divorce, she's seeking sole custody of the kid and to get out of the Church as well.

scientologist are cowards. I insult them and their entire idiotic cult whenever I can.

Maybe a bit, I certainly see nothing good in the glorification of zombies. But perhaps it's just because Scientology is so new that it seems more absurd.

Yeah, but you see people laughing at these stupid religions...

"Scientology? Alien parasites? Xenu! You're insane! Mormons? Magic underwear! What idiots! Huh, wait... cosmic zombies! Don't insult my religion!"

It's all equally idiotic.

Perchance. I can understand the line of logic. Though I myself am planning a new religion called the Church of Human Instrumentality: Faith Evolved. Essentially the premise is that Xenu was a benevolent and kind leader who fell prey to scheming and dark forces jealous of his power and the loyalty he inspired and engaged in a propaganda campaign against him. Going so far as to lead military coup against him and falsely imprisoning him.

In other news, Scientologists apparently oppose 1st amendment rights.
