I am generally tolerant of the mythology known as religion but when it comes to this cult based on some nutty sci-fi writer's bad acid trip all I can say is that they are batcrap insane Sadly a distant family member (brother's in-laws) is one of the top ranking whackos of that cult. Thankfully they live in Kalifornia-I only see her at funerals or weddings

Probably both. And insulting the brainwashed is not for the benefit of the brainwashed. It's for the benefit of everyone else.
 
Scientology, like all religions...does not in any way appeal to me. I do not find it any more unbelievable than any other, just more dangerous.

So she doesn't want the kids involved with the church either? I always thought it was kind of strange how he was suddenly able to have children with her, but he never seemed able to have children with anybody else. I thought he couldn't have kids... He is a wacko regardless.

I also don't think the religion is good for kids... John Travolta's son died, and they say it's because he wouldn't let him take medication. Tom Cruise has always acted like medication isn't allowable... It's not good to raise children like that.

How does the brainwashing work in the religion, does anybody even know that? It seems like it involves a bunch of money, somebody at the top is getting rich. Since the founder died, it's not him... but who is at the top now?

Only so far as people start making claims about the evils of Scientology as though those evils are unique to Scientology. They are not. If it makes Scientology evil, then it makes Islam evil too.

The Muslims have pushed anti-blasphemy laws in many Islamic countries and the UN. They don't want to allow anyone to disagree with them openly.

I lost a friend to Scientology many years ago now. He simply vanished forever. I do think it's a cult, a cruel one except to celebrities. Am glad that Lisa Marie Presley has apparently made her escape and hope that Katie Holmes will be able to too.

I know, I'm saying that in the US, Scientologists have done more to work against free speech than basically any other group in these times.
