Maxine Waters to Tea Party: Let’s get it on

California Congressman Maxine Waters told Denver Democrats tonight that Republicans are waging a war on women on issues ranging from health care to wage disparity.

During her speech at the 5th annual House District 7 Unity Dinner, she accused Republicans of attacking President Obama any chance they get.

“We cannot allow the opportunities that America stands for to be eroded by those who simply want to bring this president down,” she said.

She was cheered when she said, “After a good night sleep, I wake up the next day, and I say, ‘Come on, Tea Party, let’s get it on.’”

Among those present at the dinner: Congresswoman Diana DeGette; Denver City Councilwomen Robin Kniech and Mary Beth Susman; state Rep. Angela Williams and Sen. Mike Johnston, who represent House District 7; and Sen. Pat Steadman and House Minority Leader Mark Ferrandino.

Republicans criticized Democrats for inviting a congresswoman facing ethics charges. Waters said she was there at the invitation of Williams and “that’s that.”

Can't decide who's worse, Waters or Pelosi.

Seriously, if Michele Bachmann said "Let's get it on, Democrats" nobody would start a thread, and if they did you'd be defending her to the death.

They are "getting it on." You may have heard there's an election. I'm sure Maxine Waters intends for Democrats to win. Funny how that works.

Unlike Liberals that see things through their partsian tunnel vision goggles, us normal people can clearly see how foul and disgusting Maxine Waters is and that she's a racist hatemonging hack. Her past actions and comments are proof of that.

That may be, but this quote is not evidence of that.

For a "FAIR and BALANCED" person, you don't seem to get that there's an election and that Democrats oppose Republicans in it.

Those remarks were not made by someone else though. They were made by Maxine Waters. Here's an example of who she is: it's OK for her to attack and even threaten the Tea Party but it's not OK for the right to criticize Obama. See the double standard and hypocrisy?

Yourstar can't grasp the reality that's it's NOT just the conservatives that have had it with Obama's failure and his racebaiting hacks such as Waters.. but FAIR and BALANCED moderate independents like myself are always being attacked and mislabeled a conservative and being attacked by people like YourStar because we too know the truth.

Nobody said it wasn't OK to criticize Obama. Go ahead and do so. If you want to say Waters is a hyperpartisan moron, I'll agree with you. If you have subsantive criticism of Obama, I may or may not agree with you (depending on the issue and what Obama did). That's fair.

Saying, "Hey, I challenge you in the election," is not criticizing or attacking anyone unfairly. She didn't incite violence. She didn't even put targets on a map. She said "You want to compete in an election? Let's do it! Let's compete in an election."

Here's a little background on Maxine. One of the top race baiters in Congress she's successfully held off the House Ethics Committee for 3 years by playing the race card but her trial is drawing closer. I don't think self perceived "racial insensitvity" is going to allow her to skate much longer. She's also famous for justifying the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles in which her own office was burned down.

The funniest part about the headline is the presupposition that Maxine Waters is even relevant to the 'Tea Party' candidates. My thought would be that she is far from 'antagonizing' and that in fact every time that sad cow opens her mouth, Tea Party support goes up.
