Julian Assange is still in limbo, as Ecuador weighs-up whether to grant him political asylum. The Latin American country has recalled its ambassador to Britain for consultation. If the Wikileaks editor's request is denied, he's likely to be arrested by British police the moment he steps out of the Ecuadorian embassy - where he's been since Tuesday. RT's Elena Millinchich is in Ecuador's capital, Quito, and has been looking into his asylum chances.

[FONT=arial, sans-serif]18 months on house arrest without charge, being summoned to Sweden for "sex charges" that just so happened to come out right when he posted a giant dump? Coincidence? I hope Ecuador grants him asylum.

He may be jumping from the pan into the fire. Ecuador has a generous extradition treaty with the U.S..

Time will tell.

Has he committed a crime in America though?

He has certainly committed one in England now though. Really hard to deny he is a criminal at this point.
