With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led nation in

Re: With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led natio

WI lost more jobs in the last twelve months than any other state. Did you read the article. No excuses they lost more jobs than any other state. You offer a handful of excuses when the proof is in the print. How much in denial can you people get?

I posted the chart from BLS. you really need to give them a call and tell them they got the numbers wrong

Re: With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led natio

I get my data from this guy...

Here is his address:

Madison, WI

Same advice, you need to contact the Bureau of Labor Statistics and tell them they got the numbers wrong. Interesting how BLS data is only credible when you agree with the data.

Re: With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led natio

Before Gov. Chris Christie headed to Wisconsin Tuesday to help Gov. Scott Walker succeed in the upcoming recall election there, New Jersey State Sen. Barbara Buono offered a dark snapshot of the employment picture in the Badger State.
In a news release issued Monday, Buono, a Democrat representing part of Middlesex County, offered this statistic: "Wisconsin lost more jobs over the past 12 months than any other state."....POLITIFACT: STATEMENT TRUE

GOOD JOB GOV Hate labor Walker....your doing a great job for Wisconsins Rich and Corporations WHO YOU GAVE TAX CUTS with the money you took off of PUBLIC WORKERS.....I just love the teaparty...

Now here is something I don't understand....So many people, particularly liberals, let Obama slide his first year in office because everything was "Bush's fault". And yet this same logic does not apply to Walker?

Where's my hip waders?

Lost more jobs than any other state. Excuses don't bring those jobs back.

Re: With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led natio

Aw, yes, my apology, you are absolutely correct, he was elected in the Republican landslide in November 2010 and took office in January 2011. Want to discuss his performance since January 2011? Is 6.8% unemployment higher or lower than the national average and what it was when he took office? Is his ranking for business climate higher or lower than it was when he took office? Liberals always want to be procise when it comes to Republican results but ignore the Obama lies and distortions. Wonder why?

National average is 8.1% so 6.8% is lower than the average. Also if you take a look here the 6.8% is pretty average in Wisconsin since this recession started. In fact if you look back to 2010 there were an aweful lot of 7-8 percents in there compared to Walkers average of 6 percents.

BLS.gov

Over all I think Walker has done just fine. The story in the OP is hyperbole imo.

Question for ya. What were the jobs that were lost? I get that most of them were public jobs...but which ones? Were they from needed sectors like police, firemen, teachers? Also were they lay offs? Fired due to bad performance? Quit?

Just saying that those jobs were lost is meaningless without context.

Really? The chart doesn't show that, you really should call BLS and tell them their data is wrong because there was no job losses in Wisconsin according to BLS

The largest over-the-month decrease in employment occurred in Ohio (-9,500), followed by New Jersey (-8,600) and Wisconsin (-4,500)....

Over the year, nonfarm employment increased in 45 states and the District of Columbia, decreased in 4 states, and was unchanged in Alabama. The largest over-the-year percentage increase occurred in North
Dakota (+6.5 percent). The largest over-the-year percentage decrease in employment occurred in Wisconsin (-0.9 percent).

Over the year, 27 states and the district experienced statistically significant increases in employment. The largest increase occurred in Texas (+245,700), followed by California (+181,000) and New York
(+155,300). Wisconsin was the only state to show a statistically significant decrease (-23,900). (See table D.)

He's a public union retiree. I think he's still on their email list, and he just posts whatever he gets in the forum.

You do realize that month over month in this report compares March to February and not in total where Wisconsin has a job increase. Wonder what effect the recall efforts are having on businesses moving to the state and hiring people? Why would anyone invest their money in Wisconsin to increase employment not knowing if Scott Walker and his programs are going to continue in place?

Walker's term has effectively been during a national "recovery".

Re: With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led natio

Walker's term has effectively been during a national "recovery".

So all states are showing the economic recovery we are seeing in Wisconsin including budget being balanced, drops in unemployment, and better economic growth?

Re: With Christie to campaign for Walker, a state senator claimed Wisconsin led natio

Walker is a fail...just like Kashich in Ohio...he attacked public workers who are middle class workers and gave tax cut to the richest in wisc and corporations...that is reverse robin hood in its purest form and all he accomplished is lose jobs whether they be public or private and give the rich a tax cut...that is the mantra of the koch brothers teaparty...and he deserves all the recall and payback he can get.
In other words, "Ignore the reality that state and local governments have failed to maintain ANY fiscal responsibility and protect unions at all cost". Shhhhhhhhhhhhhocking.

You have to keep in mind that "Gimmesometruth" is a proven liar and he's always known for spouting lies and/or false facts on other threads.
Gimmesometruth has convinced himself that Obama is the 2nd coming of the Mesiah and Obama is flawless and Gov Walker is Satan because he stood up to Union thugery.

I'm guessing a lot of people moved to N. Dakota to work in the oil fields since they had the largest employment increase of +6.5%.

Here is the data on Wisconsin, In January 2011 Wisconsin had 2.833 million employed and in March 2012 there were 2.856 employed. That doesn't look like a job loss to me.

You did not cite the BLS in regard to the decrease in unemployment, and I doubt that the BLS knows more about the state numbers that the WI Department of Workforce Development.

You seem to have a problem with links, yes, I did post the link for Wisconsin numbers and here it is again

By the way where do you think BLS gets state data?

Where in the world do you get your information. The actual data says differently as the results are much better today than when he took office as I showed in my previous post

That does not show the rate of change. You see, you get yourself so involved that you just can't keep track of the conversations.

Try again.

What it shows is job gains and unemployment reductions which is contrary to your post and comments. Learn to read the BLS data and then get back to us.

Yes it does. In the very last chart it gives numbers of the labor force, employed, and unemployed and the unemployment percentage.

The last time that unemployment was lower than the 6.8% for March of this year was back in December of 2008 at 6.5%. January of 2009 was at 7.2%. When Walker got in office unemployment was at 7.7%. From this we can see that the rate dropped from 7.7% to 6.8%. That is a 0.9% drop in unemployment since Walker took office.

Yup. I was waiting for con to get the number that I had posted 3 pages ago, seasonally adjusted, straight from WI. Again, it is in line with the national average, showing the executives of WI and the US getting the same results.

And I am waiting for you to explain the charts and actual data shown from BLS which you seem to buy when you believe it supports your point of view but not now? I am also waiting for an explanation as to why the 17 spot jub in business climate change in Wisconsin as reported by Chief Executive Magazine and then how the recall is affecting job growth in Wisconsin? You pick and choose data that you believe makes your case but ignore the non partisan BLS data which comes from the Wisconsin Work Force Commission.

In addition Wisconsin has improved economically due to Walker policies but what the hell, improving economy with a Republican Governor is bad for the unions, bad for Democrats, and of course bad for Obama.
