Six-Year-Old Jeffrey Bourgeoiff Killed By Wood Chipper While Helping His Father Clear Timber | Video | TheBlaze.com

A six-year-old boy who wanted to help his father clear timber ended up losing his life due to his altruistic urge, in one of the more gruesome recent tragedies. Jeffrey Bourgeoiff, who was helping his father throw branches into a wood chipper, decided to throw a few branches in himself while his father’s back was turned. The result was that tiny Jeffrey was sucked into the wood chipper.

What a horrific accident. Please keep this family in your thoughts.

The father will likely commit suicide, they better watch him.

Definitely a chip off the old block.

But, seriously, after a horrific accident like this, the family is going to need some serious counseling. They are in my prayers.

This is NOT something where you throw in a cute joke. Bad taste man.

I read this earlier on my yahoo. Horrific thing, this. :(

While I do agree with you whole heartedly, and Dan is not someone that I would normally defend, I have to say that sometimes making jokes is the only way some people know how to deal with something so tragic. And sometimes people have to do it just to not break down themselves. So while I agree that it was in bad taste I'm willing to let it go so long as it doesn't happen again.

As to the OP....losing either of my kids is my greatest fear. I cannot fathom how this father is going to continue on. If the same situation were to happen to me I KNOW that I would kill myself. More then likely via simple despondency. After such a thing I know that I wouldn't even have the strength to feed myself. Hell...even thinking about the possibility has brought tears to my eyes.

My heart and my prayers go out to the family.
