TRENDING: Grassley calls Obama 'stupid' on Twitter

so calling Obama stupid is bad.. but basically calling Grassley childish is good..... mmmmmk

the argument Obama used to attack the court was, in fact, stupid.... doesn't matter who makes that argument.. a con law professor or a plumber, it's stupid.

He called Obama stupid, not the argument. BIG difference.

Good for Senator Grassley. He should feel free to express himself. Far too many people feel intimidated by Obama and his minions. We need more intrepid people in government to come forward and speak the obvious truth of Obama's flagrant corruption, ineptitude, and unconstitutional power-mongering. The subversive acquiescense to oppression must stop.

Nice to see you understand the premise of the OP. Oh wait.

This is just the typical double standard from the left. The left can insult, ridicule, and outright lie about the right, but if you do the same thing to them it's over the top, inflammatory, disrespectful, etc, etc.

Stupid twits.

I see you aren't willing to read the OP and respond to the original question without typical banal drivel.

Funny how the ranting right got so hot and bothered over the Dixie Chicks' comments on Pres B II, but for a senator, the supposed 'wisemen' of Congress, to be so childish...

I seem to recall 'conservatives' in Congress taking the Supreme Court to task over the Terry Shivo case. Called the Highest Court activist judges and unaccountable officials.

Guess it depends on who's goring the ox on how angry the 'conservatives' get over the 'principle of the thing'

I'm sure Bush got called worse.

That's quite possible I would think. I remember Reid calling Dubya a loser and a liar I seem to recall. But I could be wrong.

It just seems pretty common to me. And I don't mean frequent by that.

:lamo :rofl

what's wrong with this whole thread:

TWITTER IS NEWS!! OHS NOS!

To be clear Reid apologized for the loser comment but BushII did lie about putting the Yucca Mountain nuke waste project on hold and then starting it back up. Reid simply called him on that.

Given the Right's almost constant tirade over 'activist, unaccountable and unelected' Judges it does seem a bit hollow to complain now...

More gut wrenching laughter: these twats are on twitter - saying stupid stuff - and then appologizing for what they say.

the comedy doesnt' end.

I think it was completely out of line.

In fact, so out of line, we should pass a constitutional amendment which requires public officials to use proper grammar. Problem solved.

For a conservative you are pretty awesome. I cracked up at that, well done.

Though I do tremble at the thought of what the internets and twitter is going to do to the english language.

Better idea...

Senators and Congressmen can set a good example for the rest of us of how you can criticize the President while respecting the office.

The majority of the people in the U.S. voted for Obama, however, over the last three years, a loud minority has pushed the line on acceptable partisan rhetoric, even questing his birth. They have set a new (and very dangerous) precedent on how we discuss our county's highest office. Nixon and Clinton both damaged the office from the inside, but this time the damage to the office has been done by DC politicians and right-wing pundits.

It's now okay to say, a few weeks after a national election, "I hope he fails"... or call out "you lie" when the President is speaking on the floor of the house.

It's too bad your position is based on what you imagine instead of reality.

You mean, "your reality". Many different political views in The Land of the Free and The Home of the Brave.

No one is asking for loyalty, a little respect is sufficient...

We'll respect this President just like the left respected the last President. Deal?

No, just reality. When you try and accuse a group of people fo doing something they are not doing, your accusations are not based on reality.

I would prefer that civil decorum rule the day on the House and Senate floors. I don't think the same courtesy must be extended to someone's private Twitter account. No president should be immune from criticism.

The question posed in the OP wasn't partisan. That was the salient point. Can you get past the neener neener and answer it?

Based on your opinions, I couldn't care less what you have to say about him...don't flatter yourself...I was referring to the Senator...

I don't need to flatter myself. Grassley would be a better President than this lying piece of crap.

The question posed in the OP wasn't partisan.

Except it really was, as it treated the tweet as though it exists in a vacuum.

TRENDING: Grassley calls Obama 'stupid' on Twitter

If and when the Republicans regain the White House, we shouldn't expect the customary howls and gnashing of teeth from the GOP and their supporters when they receive the same level of respect that they've been handing out for the last 3 1/2 years.

...where the hell were you from 2001 to 2008? Seriously.

Oh and about decorum inside the halls of congress, google Preston Brooks. Politics is a lot more tame now than it has been in the past.

No, YOU ARE THE BIG DUMMY HEAD

- American politics, 2012.

........ So politics just went from high school to 3rd grade. *golf clap*

Bets on who first verbally flings "Poo poo head"?

(wasting my time posting in a "who gives a ****" thread......)

Grassley should have probably chosen a different way of saying it. It's not a monumental screwup, but probably shouldn't have done it.
