Pentagon activates missile defenses for North Korean launch

It's not the first time nor the last .... NK is just trying to stay relevant.

Okaaaaaay?

Then why doesn't fatboy learn to negotiate where Dear Leader failed?

Dear leader taught fatboy all he knows, all he'll ever know. Fatboy is Dear Leaders clone (at least so far). If fatboy keeps his people hungry, afraid, weak and ignorant... why change a good thing for fatboy?

If someone wants to attack us I'd like for them to get on with the ****.

I feel like I've been waiting forever for **** to strike - and it doesn't - and I'm worn out from waiting to have my hsuband get sent off again.

Lets get it over with - and get past the inevitable - if it's actually going to happen . . . this retarded sit-and-wait game is ****ing dumb and sucking up our energy and resources. . . which I think is the plan.

With so many interceptors up and ready to go, I think that missile has a snowball's chance of landing anywhere relevant.

Ahhh, I love the smell of sabres rattling in the morning.

Time to dust off the fallout shelter.

US monitors rocket launches from unfriendly nations.

News at 11.

True, only this time the stakes are higher than they were in 2009 as the potential for tensions on the Korean peninsula to escalate into conflict are greater now than they were then. Also this launch apart from violating U.N. resolutions, and unlike previous launches, this rocket, will head not eastward over Japan and into the relatively empty Pacific but toward busier waters off Southeast Asia.

This act from North Korea, coming so close after the world was prepared to once again restart diplomatic communications with them, is disappointing and it shows to the international community that the North Korean Regime is still a master at provocation.

A totally bonehead move on the part of NK............No real capability and jeopardize a gravy train.

"Washington says North Korea uses such launches to test missile systems for nuclear weapons that could target the United States. While North Korea has conducted two nuclear tests, analysts don’t believe it has yet mastered the technology needed to shrink a nuclear weapon and mount it onto a missile.

Any launch would be the end of a Feb. 29 accord between North Korea and the United States that would ship U.S. food aid to the impoverished North in exchange for a moratorium on missile and nuclear tests, as well as a suspension of nuclear work at its main Yongbyon nuclear facility. The U.S. says plans to provide food to the North are already on hold."

North Korea has to be THE WORST part of the so-called axis of E-Vile ever! I am saddened to think we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel to have them as a threat. We used to have real threats and now this crap. Is a sad day, my friends, a very sad day.

But seriously, I love the saber rattling, reminds me of that dry drunk shoot from the lip, "Bring it on" stuff. Thinking it will be a loooong wait if we are waiting for a North Korea strike.

I want to respond, but there is really nothing to say to this. I always fell horrible for the mothers and wifes of our heros.

And this is what's so hard to understand about the North Korean Regime:

The South Korean military estimates that North Korea has spent US$3.1 billion on developing and testing long-range ballistic missiles so far.
The rocket North Korea plans to launch is likely to cost $850 million which, according to a South Korean official, is equivalent to a year’s food supply for 19 million people in the impoverished country.

Why is it being wasted? The NK threat is real (however unlikely it might actually manifest into real violence), not pretend.

Right and the Iran threat is real so we must bomb them first before they kill us all! Spare me the theatrics. We receive loads of threats from countries we had no business meddling in, and now when the abused dog starts growling all of a sudden we're the victim? Please.

So again my money is being wasted......yet again.

Well, we're not bombing NK. This is a missile DEFENSE system, not a missile invasion and occupation system.

Sorry but I disagree with it, and I'll continue to whine about it. Just because they're testing their own missiles, doesn't mean they're heading for us. This isn't the first time something like this has happened.

Don't forget that Iran and North Korea are good friends... you remember a couple of months ago, when Iran had yet another "accident" in some nuclear site over there, and several north koreans working and helping the Iranian Regime were killed? they are buddies, they exchange technology ... it's all a web of relationships.

Yea well I don't blame other countries preparing their own weapons. We need to stop trying to police every country and take all their weapons for us to keep and focus on the domestic issues here in the States at hand.

Sure.... it'd be nice only to focus on domestic issues , but then.... we don't live in a perfect world. Dangerous countries with nuclear toys have to be policed in my opinion.

And policed very closely too.

LOL!! By who? Us? And we're not a dangerous country? Please. This type of attitude is why we're in such deep crap now. Those idiots in office think they can commit genocide on all Middle Easterners because of one terrorist attack that happened over a decade ago. Sorry but the reality is, the United States is a dangerous country, but it's getting over it's head thinking it's top-gun of the world. Other countries are allowed to have weapons nor is it our job to police them.

And policed very closely too.

If we keep it up with this method, we're going to have another more serious, devastating attack on our soil.

Leave other countries alone and focus on how we're going to get our economy back in shape.

My money is on Pakistan help with former USSR technicians in a supporting role. Lets not overplay the web of relationships too much. Our former President went a long way in setting the webs.

I wouldn't worry too much about the aid we have repeatedly pledged North Korea. It rarely gets delivered, they accuse us of not honoring the treaty, we accuse them, little aid actully ends up being transferred.

While many are wont to label NK's leadership as crazier than a sh*thouse rat the politics are simple. I believe that we can be the bigger nation and negotiate a settlement to the Korean War. South Korea used to fight that concept, the totalitarians that we call allies used the threat of a new invasion internally. Now it seems we want to use the threat to keep reunification from occurring.

There was a day when no one thought Germany would be reunited, yet here we are, no more FRG.

The Axis of E-Vile is as much a direct result of our past saber rattling and Pre-emptive War Policy than any love between Shia Muslims and a closed cult minor asian nation.

I do understand what you are saying but at the end of the day you have to take sides and decide what side are you on. And for me at least USA is not the dangerous country.

Also, for instance if a country like Iran closes the strait of Hormuz its going to affect the whole world, let alone your own economy. We do not live in our own little bubbles any more its all interrelated that's what Global World means.
