House Dems host Trayvon Martin's parents on hill - Fox News

This whole thing is spinning out of control each and every day. Democrats on the hill are listening to testimony from Trayvon's parents about how he was racially profiled. The New Black Panthers placed a $10,000 reward on George Zimmerman's head and Civil Rights Activists are tossing out the race card again.

We are a nation of laws, this is why we are a great nation. We need to let local law enforcement do their jobs and complete the investigation. Trying to rile up public opinion to a fevered pitch is dangerous and could have deadly consequences.

i believe the media throwing the race card and turning ants into elephants over a situation is what caused the la riots.this is a political and sensationalist move,the media gets full coverage and someone gets credit for ending riots and gets to point fingers at whose responsible for them.

If it is true that the NBP group has placed a bounty on George Zimmerman then somebody should be seriously monitoring that group and its leaders. That's essentially murder for hire.

I'm still curious to learn who broke the story in the first place. I didn't realize for a few days that the incident happened basically a month ago. This isn't spinning out of control; it's already spun out of control.

There are hundreds of members of Congress and even getting 3 seconds media air-play or mention in the newspaper is all but impossible. So many of them act like clowns and juvenile punks desperate for attention.

I so totally agree. I hate this sort of political posturing even back when idiots dressed up like the Founders and carried blood of tyrant posters, screamed about taking their country back or stirred the pot with 'death panels'. It is sad to say it seems to be the way Congress operates.

The debate is getting very hot, but one thing I see as helping fan this is Zimmerman wasn't held after fatally shooting a teenager HE pursued. I can't help but think if a black man had shoot a white kid, or white on white the shooter would have been held 72 hours and been subjected to some rather intense questioning. Zimmerman never was piss tested, it is as if most the police believed Zimmerman's account without much question.

If there wasn't a heated public outcry I doubt this shooting would get a second thought by the vast majority of America because it would be easy to write it off as poor 'white' guy attacked by thugger black teen and the teen got what he deserved.

A civil debate would be better but there wouldn't be any debate if the outcry wasn't so strong.

The emotionally challenged race baiters on both sides squawking and frothing are funny as hell. They'll pretty much try to convince themselves of anything as long as it works with their own narrative. The rest just want to see the facts... I have to say I'm really not personally involved in either side and could go either way. If Zimmerman is found to have lied, or even stretched the truth I can support him being strung up by the short hairs for as long as the State can get.... if it turns out Zimmerman was not only justified but all the noise about race and Obama and the other media circus simply shows how racist a society we still are - and the kid just picked on the wrong guy to show how tough he was.

No matter how this fleshes out, I will always blame Zimmerman.

His actions completely contradicted neighborhood watch protocol...likely his gun gave him the courage to do so...and sans his getting out of his car instead of waiting for the patrol car that had already been dispatched, Trayvon Martin would still be alive.

There is no winner here.

You invite counter crap using fat old white dudes carrying racist posters and frothing over violence to 'take the country back' at Tea Party rallies and taking over town hall meetings.

Maggie- I totally agree, Zimmerman violated almost all the neighborhood watch rules but it appears he wasn't 'on duty' when he noticed and followed Trayvon.

I actually think that releasing Zimmerman at the time was appropriate.

On first blush his story was plausible and he is connected enough to the community to not be a high flight risk. I'm sure he got at least a "don't leave town" kind of admonishment.

I think the PD/prosecutor may have taken his word a little too easy. No real rush to identify Martin, cops wanted to charge him, etc.

Someone did make a good point about limited resources being a relevant factor, though.
