Speaking of Conspiracy theories the occupiers are full of them

Studying May Day and the General Strike (Pilot Course) | Occupy University What is the significance of May Day?
What does it mean to call for a general strike in the 21st century?
What would a day without the 99% look like?
What are our contemporary labor conditions?
What does it mean to be a worker these days?
What is the role of immigrant labor, unemployment, mass incarceration, domestic labor and precarity in our collective struggles?

Maybe I read it too fast, but the only constructive solution I see them proposing is to let BAC fail and re-form into smaller neighborhood banks. That's not going to happen. The rest of it, unless I'm mistaken, is a litany of complaints for which they offer no solution.

Irrelevant.

the federal government borrowed and spent of 10's and 10's billions to keep BAC afloat.... no way in hell they are going to break them up just because a group of leftists protestors want them to.

you break up BAC now and the proverbial **** hits the fan...they moved a bunch of their derivatives from merrill securities over to BofA.... and the FDIC is on the hook to insure all that ( meaning us taxpayers)... BAC's derivative holdings are over 53 trillion bucks.. yeah, trillion.... that's only in BofA North America... there's another 22 trillion still hanging out in bank of America holdings ( the parent company)

they were made to be too big to fail....and the OWS is utterly powerless to affect that.

ugh... a table of fools talking foolishness.

I love the visual of the person talking about abolishing capitalism ...with a starbucks coffee in front of them... funny stuff:lol:

Ironic, isn't it?

I think this helps explain the fear some have of the OWS:

[h=1]Why OWS Scares the Crap Out of Republicans[/h]
"It’s very frightening for them, really. You’ve all heard the story, of the “Emperor With No Clothes” If you have no children, here’s a refresher.

Two thieves get caught and are to be killed by decree of the king. They intrigue the king with a story of how they are both master tailors, and if allowed to live, they can make a suit like no other. The king agrees and sets them up in a tower. The thieves concoct a story that their suit is so fine, and magical; fools won’t be able to see it… If you don’t see the suit, you are a fool. No one admits to the king they don’t see it, and of course the king, heavens. He can’t admit to all that he too is a fool…. Eventually the process becomes finished, and the parade showing off the new suit begins. Pictures from old accounts show the king butt naked, with all his parts hanging down. Newer versions are more modest; some even showing long johns covering the entire body… Bottom line, everyone is shocked. no one says a thing. … Except one little boy who didn’t get the message… “Why, he’s wearing nothing on him at all.” and the gig is up… The crowd laughs and the king disappears never to show his face again….

Republicans have this myth that everything is fine. Corporate profits are up. Taxes are low. Budgets everywhere are getting slashed. Labor costs are lower than ever. Pensions and insurance plans are no longer being paid for by corporations; the insured are picking up that tab.. Yes everything is rosy. The Ronald Reagan plan is definitely working well proving that if you cut taxes, cut taxes, cut taxes, you will then have no choice but to cut government, cut government, cut government. Life is rosy and then you come around the corner and there are OWS protestors… right on your street. proving you whole concept wrong….

For you see, it is not working. People are unemployed. People can’t afford to pay their bills, People’s investments are falling down around them. People’s houses are being foreclosed. It’s like the little boy pointing out: there’s nothing there at all!… and everyone can see he is right.
That is the power of the protesters right there in the financial district, where they cannot be ignored. For you see, it is not working. It is working for the 1%; it is not working for the 99%."

Fools or not, OWS is right about one thing: Wall street needs downsizing. Lots of it. It's not rocket science. They have all the money. Asking the rest of us to pay is beyond ludicrous. When a man has surplus, and his neighbor lacks, there's something to fix.
Those of you who babble about how families with less money are like that because they're lazy, get out. GET OUT! try living off an annual household income of 20K or less, with a full time job, and possibly an extra job or two on the side. The 1% don't need all that money, don't use all that money, and certainly haven't earned it. Before I hear any remarks about whining for money, let me say this: This is protesting, not whining. We're not begging for you to give us your money, we're asking you to give back money to society. The simple truth about the economy: There's enough money out there for everyone to have a wage to sustain themselves on. When one has more wage then they need, someone else doesn't have enough. When Wall Street hoards the money for themselves, they're keeping the rest of us from getting the money we need.

There's no justice in an unbalanced economy.

That's the reason OWS came about.

Agreed. Right now it's just a mass of unorganized people. They would do well to curb the violence, unsanitary crap and refusing to leave when police tell them too. Maybe then people would take them seriously.

Evidence to the contrary:

The hammer and sickle is world known as the symbol of Communism not socialism. Add the hammer and sickle together with a red star and you get the national symbol for the USSR.
120px-Flag_of_the_Soviet_Union_%281923-1955%29.svg.png
It seems a bit odd that you would use a well known symbol of authoritarian Communism as your signature. A red star is also a symbol for Communism both used at the same time cannot be mistaken as socialism. Its basic knowledge.

Now where does this leave us? First you try to tell us that the occupy movement is not Leftist even though everyone can observe for themselves the overwhelming obvious fact that everything done by the occupiers is Leftist. Then you try to deny the basic Leftist symbolism on an official occupy movement propaganda poster. ANd try to deny that a hammer and sickle is Communist symbolism. Do you really think that people are that stupid? I amean yes I know that Leftists think that the American public is stupid but damn Bubba could figure this out drunk.

Excellent post! The 1% and the TPR's don't get it though.

...........

that's not evidence of being scared.. that's just him putting forth an argument as to why the OWS supporters are lying about it not being a lefty movement.

not sure about the USSR flag... but it's painfully obvious that OWS uses socialist/ communist symbolism in their media.
that's not really scary either... doomed to failure, sure... but not scary.

Excellent post! The 1% and the TPR's don't get it though.

that's correct... the 1% and TPR's don't get it... and neither do other people with a cursory knowledge of basic economics and capitalism.

it's the same tired " you have money.. give me your money... now!!!" horse**** the liberal collectivists have been pulling forever.

thievery wrapped in a socialist solidarity fist flag ain't no better than thievery wrapped up in a corporate icon flag

Suuuuure, there has been constant demonization by the far right in thread after thread because no one is worried about them............ that's the ticket! :lamo

"Methinks thou doth protest too much!"

no chores, no work, no school?

looks like "no responsibility".

.....oh, and how about "no pay".

Doesn't it seem odd that it would coincide with a time where university students across the country are close to their final exam/project week? What a fabulous time to not do anything.

The school year ends with the coming of summer.
Nice weather begins with the coming of summer.
People tend to be more tolerant of being outside with the coming of nice weather.
No, it doesn't seem odd.
You're making an awful big jump to a conclusion, Fiddy.

After the seeing the crap that happen to the Occupy movement in Oakland, I have no respect for that movement what so ever.
