Israel Asks for Bunker Buster

Well according to Wikipedia the penetration record for Bunker Busters is 15 feet (unbeaten since world war two) which won't be a great deal of good if many of these facilities are beneath mountains.

15'?

that's nothing. Looks like Israel may have to accept a nuclear Iran.

I should add that that's 15 feet of reinforced concrete and that the bomb exploded after the 15 feet. So that's not at all bad but when you consider that there is an actual mountain in the way (in some cases) that hardly cuts it.

22 feet as a matter of fact, but that's not the point. A nuclear bunker buster is designed to generate seismic waves, in a sense similar to the depth charges of yore.

GBU-28 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The bomb underwent testing at the Tonopah Test Range, Nevada, a test facility for United States Department of Energy funded weapon programs. It proved capable of penetrating over 30 meters (100 ft) of earth or 6 meters (20 ft) of solid concrete; this was demonstrated when a test bomb, bolted to a rocket sled, smashed through 22 ft (6.7 m) of reinforced concrete and still retained enough kinetic energy to travel a mile downrange.[5][6] The GBU-28 is unique in that the total development time from conception to the first drop test took only 2 weeks, and the weapon went into active service after only one test drop,[7] at Eglin AFB, Florida on 19 February 1991.[8]

and what do you call the people (possibly Isreal) that killed the Iranian scientists?

BTW countries (including the U.S.) have done black ops for decades. Do you consider those that do black ops terrorists?

If you do not know or cannot see the difference, then there is no adequate way to explain it so you would understand.

I say give it to them. Up the ante. Obama probably won't.

Israel asks U.S. for arms that could aid Iran strike - Yahoo! News
It's the hypocrisy of nuclear states condemning a nuclear program I can't stomach. Israel with it's stockpile of 200 nukes, and America as foremost superpower. The whole thing's a bad joke.Add to that the fact that Iran's said to be at least a decade away from a real program. The entire dialogue has been like a repeat of North Korea. The same hypocrisy, the same actors, the same misplaced fears. That was supposed to result in WW3 also, as I recall. Surprise surprise, we're all still alive, and they didn't do one single thing.

Israel with it's Zionism, and America supporting it's watchdog in the ME.

From beginning to end, this entire debacle has showcased the most nauseating features of international politics. It's really sick.

they attack Israel through Hamas & Hezbollah. They tried to kill diplomats in the USA and in other countries.
Meanwhile, Bibi has his Zionist fundamentalists conduct what amounts to genocide, as he lays waste to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Oh, noble Israel!

The rank hypocrisy here is the poorest comedy imaginable.

Well, learn to stomach it. Iran signed onto the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, meaning them obtaining a nuke is literally against the law. They are subject to IAEA verification of their nuclear program.

“the NPT non-nuclear-weapon states agree never to acquire nuclear weapons, and to pursue nuclear disarmament aimed at the ultimate elimination of their nuclear arsenals [should they already have nuclear weapons]

Get a clue.

Get a clue.
Get a brain. And a memory.

The US itself flouted convention going into Iraq, despite a Security Council veto. So much for binding contracts, eh?

I'm certain that over the last 40 years, Iran has decided that perhaps it's situation has changed. I believe they're in a better position to decide that than you are.

when you lie like this, about the definition of words like "genocide", you do your argument no good.

let us know when Israel's goal in Gaza is genocide, or they engage in any behavior that may in anyway achieve the aim of genocide.

until then, your claim is bogus & crap.

and in the West Bank???? wtf.
'Bogus' and 'crap'. Are those technical terms?

Deny as you will. Either view the links or not. I don't mind.

And who's 'us'?

and who's begging and demanding the USA to attack another country?

it ain't Iran.
Who, in your opinion is asking the US to attack another country?
Do you believe a nation, other than the US, will allow another nation to murder its citizens when it has the ability to stop them?

"The occupying regime must be obliterated." Is this a statement a peaceful nation would make about another?

Get a clue.

The treaty also obliges nuclear disarmament for the U.S , UK , Russia , France etc. are you in favor of that also? Also do you not find it ironic that one of the few states outside of the treaty (Israel) has become its self appointed guardian?

What Iran is probably doing is what is called 'nuclear hedging' I.E trying to develop the capacity to develop nuclear weapons in a short space of time, so that they are ready if/when the treaty falls apart.

One illiberal and abhorrent regime claims that another illiberal and abhorrent regime shouldn't exist, the world keeps on turning....

and illiberal people continue to try to equate the two despite their enormous differences.
