Hollywood star Angelina Jolie said Saturday the world should intervene to stop the violent crackdown in Syria and condemned powers that have vetoed a UN resolution against the regime.

"I think Syria has got to a point, sadly, where certainly some form of intervention is absolutely necessary," Jolie told Al Jazeera Balkans in an interview shown on the channel's Internet site.

Who cares? No one she knows or cares about would be involved, so it's easy for her to say "Intervene!" I wonder if she'd feel the same way if her shadow Brad would have to be a boot on the ground.

Yes, it's quite easy to send those you don't know off to be killed. Not so easy when it's your son or your husband.

We get a voice in our government regardless of military experience. We still have a civilian controlled military, right? If too many people oppose it, they can stop volunteering. It's BS to be all "well, did/do you or your loved one serve?!". No commenting on abortion unless you've had one, or are at least female? Anyway, Brad could pay for many boots, and just plain efficiency dictates he does what he does. I wonder if board members would get equally shouted down for expressing her opinion and not having family in the military.
 
She's an American with freedom of speech. It's not her fault if the press is picking up on what she's saying. I think people are overreacting.

Though given the record of the modern press, I'd say that watchdogs of the press should be more busy than the press

I agree with you Kane... not to where the money should go, but on where the money is going. And yet, all you liberal guys and gals keep pumping it in to Obama and other liberal leaders who are letting you down. Yet, here we go again-

Thats right folks, the Obama administration is considering assistance to this, and "leaving the door open". And Clinton is headed there... We just can't stop can we? Not that the GOP would be any different, but this deal just ain't our deal. Its a mess over there and we are stuck in the middle of it. Its always been a mess for he last couple of millenums. Its going to continue to be a mess for the next couple as well. All we need to be doing is protecting our own interests, and staying the hell outta the rest of it.
