Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single interv

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

The libs are so upset that they cannot have a free-ride with their double standard.

I have no double standard.

Do you?

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

Let me know when Bill Clinton FINALLY admits his FIRST infidelity, much less takes the blame and asks forgiveness, and then we will be able to compare apples to apples. Until then, your boy can't even be half the man Gingrich is.

Why are you obsessed with Clinton?

Do you measure behavior by what Clinton did?

What do you think of Gingrich, the topic of this thread? Why are you afraid to talk about him?

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

It would appear that the liberals are in a mild panic over Gingrich. He was supposed to be easily demagogued, and yet he is still a formidable candidate.

There is a change in the air, and it isn't that hopey dopey kind. And ABC thought this was going to be a cakewalk :)

Hardly. Romney stands a much better chance against Obama than newt.

Was Hillary wearing a cigar in that one ? Can you show me the passage then where Bill says that he has had affairs ?

Speaking of what was she wearing, what is that thing Mrs. 3rd wears on her head? Absolutely nothing above her neck moves.

Rest assumed it's not a halo.

are you for real? He is merely the next not Romney

Three months ago they said Newt had no chance at all. No doubt Romney is the current front-runner, but much is still to change before it is over. Clearly, if Newt wins in SC, more South Carolinians would disagree with you.

LOL .. they said that when he surged the first time.

What is for sure is that NONE OF THEM ARE OBAMA !

Newt stands a chance to win the nomination, he stands no chance of winning a national election.

Opinions are like assholes. We all got 'em.

You're funny! Newt is a Hoot! It's all good!

Why thank you. Earlier today I was thinking of a possible Newt bumper sticker "Newt Whoot". I have never known anyone with a first name of Newton.

His real name is Newton Leroy Gingrich, and he doesn't get defensive if you call him "boy" ;)

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

My take on the revelations and timing - the GOP powers are sick of Newt dogging Romney and likely behind getting ex #2 and ABC together.

Romney is currently down 5% in popularity among undecided voters - and Newt is likely the person most responsible for that.

As for when to air it - I think they want Newt to tank in SC on his own and then want to be sure he goes home from Congress for good. Gingrich as manage to trash his own career by behaving so badly during this primary.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

Is Gingrich really a conservative? Because he doesn't seem to believe in some of the things they do. Like the idea that global warming is a myth. And, now, he doesn't seem to think marriage is a sacred agreement between a man and a woman. It appears, to him, it can be between a man and two women. What a party animal.

LOL .... and that fat little rolly polly has gotten the babes over and over.

His immigration stance isn't the most Conservative either. But Newt knows exactly where the pulse of America is. It has always been only his own hubris that he tripped over. Those that ignorantly have painted him as an inept campaigner are themselves inept. He has run a brilliant campaign. He has gone from being a has-been punch line to an incredibly serious contender. Further, when these folks debate, people want to hear what Newt has to say. They do not hang on their seats for words from Romney or Santorum. Paul also gets folks ears. We have had elections before where all were boring. Not this year.

This is something I do agree with you on. I don't trust the man, I don't like his platform, but he is the most capable public speaker running. so to use a boxing analogy, he has a punchers chance. You don't seem to realize how toxic he is to so many independents and right wing voters for so many reasons though.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

whos is we? When pundits come across as idiots or hypocrites, some of us do care.
Only you, baby. Last I checked, there is a select group of folk here that troll regularly for quotes from Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I can tell you who ISNT in that group...and I dont have to tell you who is. .

actually you do have to tell me who is in this "group". I have 6,375 posts. I imagine 10 or less are related to Rush Limbaugh.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

If only she could. Newt is nutz.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

To be honest, I don't give a rat's ass what she has to say about Newt. Is it really necessary for the American public to make a decision on whether to vote for the guy? To me, the answer is simple. All one has to do is look at his record. Ethics aside, even his own party ditched him. So why would anything be different now? He's scum and I don't need Marianne's story to make that determination.

WLS Radio Chicago had a guest on this morning who said she's going to be interviewed tonight on television, and her bombshell is that Newt approached her when they were still married and wanted an open marriage with her and his current wife Callista. Big deal. I feel so sorry for she who cheated with Newtie on his first wife. But none of it makes any difference because he never stood a chance of being president anyhow.

I do have to say, though, that he appears to have been named correctly.

LOL. Everything I would have said in response to this thread was already said by my friends on the first page! Thanks, Middleground and MaggieD! Now I don't have to wade through a couple hundred pages of partisian dreck.

Believe me. I know the perils that face him. When Newt first announced, I though "no way", that he had too much baggage, looked like Humpty Dumpty, and was delusional to not realize he had no chance.

But Newt can thank God for so many debates. It is only his intellect, quick wit, and incredible off-the-cuff performances there that won folks over. Call me as shocked as anyone. By about the 5th or 6th debate, my son and I were both commenting about how this guy had it going. In fact, everyone was saying such by then.

Y'all can have all the baggage debates that you want. What sold me on Newt was when he outlined his immigration stance during a debate. As I noted earlier, it was anything but far-right. It was pragmatic, and also politically dangerous. But it was right, and that is when his first surge began.

Have to go watch the debate.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

I'm actually surprised Newt hasn't gotten out ahead of this story.

That never happened. Period. If this is what my ex-wife plans to say, then she is lying.

Not that whatever he says is going to make any difference...not that he would have been the Republican candidate if she hadn't spoken up...probably doesn't make much difference to him at all. He'll eventually drop out and use his campaign war chest to buy himself a suhweet job.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

Which family values is he campaigning on? I have seen several quotes and articles (I can go to HuPo and other liberal sites too) and see all the comments about 'family values' but Im not seeing the facts regarding Gingrich running on 'family values'.

Oh you mean now? Well of course he dare not mention it now...

Newt Gingrich on Families & Children

Co-established bipartisan task force on the family

Today we had a bipartisan service. It talked about caring about our spouses, and our children, and our families. Because if we're not prepared to model that, beyond just having them here for one day, if we're not prepared to care about our children, and we're not prepared to care about our families, then by what arrogance do we think we will transcend our behavior to care about others? That's why with Congressman [Richard] Gephardt's help, we've established a bipartisan task force on the family. We've established the principle that we're going to set schedules we stick to so families can count on times to be together, built around the school schedules, so that families can get to know each other and not just on C-Span.

And then here's another quote from Newt, this one on ethics of all things...

“When a liberal talks about values, will he or she actually like us to teach American history?” Newt Gingrich told the women’s group. “Will they actually like young people to learn that George Washington was an ethical man? A man of standards, a man who earned the right to be father of this country?”
