Obama threatened, called 'monkey' by ex-Carson council candidate

#1. the term "teabagger" was first used by the Tea Party.

Actually, referring to "Tea bagging" was first done by one particular group of the Tea Party movement. Referring to every member of the movement as "tea baggers" was not first used by them. I will happily document in a thread where its more on topic exactly where it began, as I have done before on this forum.

#2. only gays rape men in prison??? talk about an ignorant claim.

No, but its suggesting he'll be emasculated ("belle of the ball") because he'll be ****ed in the ass, which is insinuating that being ****ed in the ass makes one less masculine.

Hilarious. How on earth can anyone take what this idiot said and somehow deflect and defend it?

No one is defending what the idiot said, on the contrary its almost universally being panned. However, just because you're talking about something that's idiotic doesn't give you cover for people to ignore your own idiotic things. People responding to the OP's STATEMENTS is not "deflecting" from what this guy does. Your ridiculously ignorant logic would suggesting if I started a that criticizing Obama's Health Care Plan and in it I called him the n-word, and you pointed out how dumb it is for me to call him such, that you are really just "deflecting" attention from his health care plan when in reality you're just dealing with the stupid things I said in the thread.

See, if you stick to just the facts, you don't have problems. But blaming this or trying to combine this with the tea party all people will see is that retarded bit. The Tea Party is not racist. It's platform is not racist. If he is a Tea Partier, it is still entirely irrelevant to the story. When you go for all out stupid in the OP, you ruin any chance you have of making a point.

There's no evidence in the article the Tea Party is involved. Just more unsubstantiated BS ...

The question is....rate your level of suprise. I doubt even conservatives are that suprised even though they'll deny it.

Surprise at racists living in the United States? No surprise at all...

Plus there is the irony of his homophobic slur.

Irony IS amusing...

Agreed. The Tea Party has plenty of other idiots doing a bang up job. No sense giving this buffoon all the credit.

The Tea Party has nothing to do with this... though I understand you want to slander it for political purposes and continue a narrative that is a lie.... that much is clear.

No, but its suggesting he'll be emasculated ("belle of the ball") because he'll be ****ed in the ass, which is insinuating that being ****ed in the ass makes one less masculine.
Exactly right... hence the aforementioned irony; it always brings a smile to my face.

we are in complete agreement on this.

however, to suggest that being raped in prison is somehow related to homosexuality or homophobia, is stupid and shows a lack of understanding of the issues involved.

rape is about power, not sexuality. especially in prison.

Was it so long ago that people have forgotten?

George Bush and Monkey Look-Alikes - Bush Monkey Photos

Yeah, he was wrong, but then selective indignation is a bit hypocritical.

You realize there's a difference betwen comparing George Bush to a monkey based on looks, and just broadly calling CHLIDREN who are black "monkeys" with no context or reference at all as to your meaning OTHER than the fact in the same sentence you used the word nigger as well...right?

The two situations are HUGELY different.

They are and they aren't. We now what would happen if you replaced Bush's pictures with Obama's. I think it may have already happened actually.

I may be wrong, but I believe what Rev was suggesting was that...based on the obvious negative corollary the OP made between anal sex and emasculation…that the presentation of “prison rape” as some kind of negative was not singularly based on the fact that “prison rape is homosexual” but rather that on the fact that prison rape = anal sex and anal sex = emasculation and emasculation = something worthy of being mocked.

Had he just went “I hope he gets anally raped in prison” I think Rev may’ve said that’s barbaric or savage (as he’s stated) but the “homophobic” portion likely would not come into play. It’s the combination of both the “belle of the ball” comment mixed with the anal rape that gives an indication that it seems to be that homosexuality, or aspects often stereotypically related, is a negative thing that can act as some sort of “punishment” to the OP.

You are attempting to take one part of his sentence, a part that was not his main focus in the original comment you had disagreement with, and focus on it without context which is inherently dishonest and purposefully attempting not to take in the entire situation. The OP’s post that Rev is referencing throughout this thread in his statements wasn’t JUST concerning anal rape, but specifically anal rape that would make one the “belle of the ball”

Which has 100% NOTHING to do with this thread. Obama wasn't drawn as a monkey, Obama wasn't called a monkey, Obama's Children were. Context surrounding most of the George Bush Monkey Pictures gave a clear indiciation the intent behind them was mocking either his 1) intellect or 2) appearance. The only context we have in this case to indicate why the individual would call obama's CHILDREN monkeys is the fact he also used a racial slur in the process.

No, they're nothing alike outside of the fact each situation had some human being referred to as a monkey, which is an incredibly shallow comparison between the two circumstances.

Look, I certainly condemn what that guy did and am perhaps on a tangent, but political correctness is my pet peeve. Many of those expressing righteous indignation at almost any slight at Obama were the same ones calling Bush a cocaine-snorting, draft-dodging, baby-killing monkey. Everybody knows it just as everybody knows any equation of Obama's appearance or intellect with that of a monkey's would bring howls of racism.

I certainly also agree that his kids are off-limits. The guy is clearly a bastard.

You can show where the same people are doing both? Thank you in advance.

At some point you have assume a certain amount of rationality, otherwise who has the time or inclination?

Yes, rationality. For there to be some sort of hypocrisy, the same person has to have done what they are complaining about. You have not shown this. I am a liberal. have I said any of the things about Bush you mentioned?

Dunno, don't care. I do know I don't suffer petulance well, so ok - you win.:peace

It's not petulance. if you are going to call names, you should be able to back it up. You are unable to.

I saw he was "Libertarian " not a Tea Party Member. Calling for anyone's assassination is wrong and name calling is rather childish, but it is equally childish to let words bother you. Yes, he is black and you would have to be blind not to notice that and the word monkey is wrong to use, but I have heard many black people call white people much worse and that is appears to be alright with everyone for some odd reason. I think this whole thing is childish and were he serious he would be in jail now. Obviously the SS (Secret Service) saw he was just a fool and let it drop.

You however should know better than to use words like "racist, teabagger and scumbag"...that simply shows your ignorance and lack of respect.

Actually, the first Tea Parties started with the Libertarians, but the Tea Party is now much different, due to GOP hijacking of the movement.

when idiots say idiotic things, why does it make the news?

Because it's funny to watch people ruin their careers and spiral downward - I guess. I get some good chuckles off of clowns like this.

Name calling is one thing, but the N word is racist and 'monkey' is an old racist term primarily used to describe young blacks and black children.

Apparently the guy isn't too bright. Calling for the assassination of the president, government officials, and military personnel could reasonable be considered treasonous. I added the circle to the original to note the potentially treasonous material.
