Once again, House Repubicans are playing stupid political games and thumbing their noses at President Obama rather than addressing the serious business of helping middle class Americans and bolstering the weak economy. No wonder their approval rating is at an all time low.

[h=1]Boehner: We'll take Churchill bust in the Capitol[/h] By Pete Kasperowicz - 12/18/11 09:03 PM ET
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has introduced a resolution calling for a bust of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill to be placed in the U.S. Capitol, and the House is expected to approve the resolution on Monday.
If passed, the resolution would once again return Churchill to a prime spot in the nation's capitol. President Obama in 2009 famously returned a bust of Churchill that was in the White House back to Britain, sparking complaints that Obama seemed to be diminishing the primacy of the U.S.-British relationship.

Had Obama not been a jerk before, this wouldn't even be news. You can't hide from the fact that he embarrassed America with his childish tantrum and display by sending a bust back to England. Childish, simply childish.

What explanation was given for that absurd act by Obama?

Yep, in a time where we have a housing crisis and bad economy, House Republicans think THIS is important to focus on. :doh

What absurd act? Every new president personalizes the oval office. Lincoln is one of Obama's inspirations, so he replaced the Churchill bust with one of Lincoln.

Change the subject. Typical liberal.

Didn't you know...it's no surprise that Obama didn't want Churchill watching over his shoulder, because it was Churchill who, in 1952, ordered a crackdown on the Mau Mau rebellion against British colonial rule in Kenya, Obama's ancestral homeland. Obama's grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, was labeled a subversive during the uprising and spent months in detention.

Yeah, I'm sure that was the reason.

Do you happen to know if the British PM has a bust of Eisenhower in his office?

Actually, in this particular case, if the right wing wouldn't have whined like little kids about this, noone would have cared one bit that the President exchanged Churchill for Lincoln. Another case where they were just looking for something to bitch about.

Don't forget to mention the stuff about FEMA concentration camps and floride in the drinking water turning people into zombies, lol.

Probably right next to his bottle of Gin.

Wrong...it was a snub to our closest ally. The only nation that stands with us time after time. He could have simply had it moved to a different location and put Lincoln in its place, but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, he had to act like a baby (typlical liberal) and send it back.

If that's your concept of humor, you need a new script writer.

Good thing to know you support the House Republicans focusing on this rather than the housing crisis and economy. Typical conservative (and we know you are conservative so quit hiding it), supporting the absurd.

Wrong ... it was an interior decorating decision. And Boehner's move was childish and stupid.

The Thread is "We'll take Churchill bust in the Capitol", not anything to do with what you call the housing crisis. The crisis (as you call it) started from, gosh, Fannie and Freddie and a bunch of democrats stealing money for themselves...and a few others as well. it's the greed that exists in DC.

What, Churchill is uglier than Lincoln. You need glasses.

My adding that is is stupid to focus on something like this IS ON TOPIC. If you think I'm off topic, report me, but I will continue to point out how stupid it is with the housing crisis and economic crisis that House Republicans are wasting tax payer money on sh*t like this. Don't like what I say tough sh*t, DEAL WITH IT.

Only liberals report people, and you appear to be such a kind and loving individual who has a wonderful way with words. That and you never yell.

Not my fault you support House Republicans wasting taxpayers money on stupid things like this. I can understand why you are embarrassed to put "conservative" as your lean.

Uhm...the House just passed a bill extending the SS tax cut and unemployment benefits through the end of 2012...while the senate bickered and bitched and only passed a 2-month extension (though both bills paid for themselve). The Speaker also asked them to forgo vacation and work. This is just a nonsense whine.

I'm impressed with how many people believe that Congress only votes on the big issues on a day-to-day basis.
