Boehner: We'll take Churchill bust in the Capitol

Bush gave this tour of the White House(link below)and the Winston Churchill bust is spoken about briefly.

To me the video is quite refreshing, the former president does a very nice job giving the tour and he seems to carry himself quite well.

The bust is shown and spoken about after the 5:30 mark and the thing being "on loan" is mentioned 2 times.

Here is a related video of the current President speaking about the Oval office, another informative piece IMO.

Hopefully his placing a bust of Martin Luther King Jr in the office doesn't upset too many viewers.

Enjoy.

I imaging the conversation went like this: The economy is in shambles, china now owns us, the world is at war, big business is polluting our planet......what we really need now is to bring back the statue of Churchill because it will obviously solve our many problems, because we certainly can't seem to do **** about it.
I've often thought Britain would have been better governed by a statue of Churchill these many decades, at least since MacMillan stepped down.

I'm guessing Obama took it down because he was scared of the competition; a statue of Churchill would have obviously outshone him as President.

With all those profound thoughts in mind, why do you think Obama took the time to do just that...send back a bust? Couldn't his time have been better spent fixing the economy? I guess not, he's rather take vacations and send his wife around the world at our expense. The "world" isn't at war, just us as we think we are the police of the world.

I think Obama didn't actually take the time to take it back himself. Pretty sure he pointed, said "Ugly. Take it back." and then people whose name he doesn't know got to work.

Yeah, I'm sure that was the reason.

Do you happen to know if the British PM has a bust of Eisenhower in his office?

In 1989, U.S. Ambassador Charles Price and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher dedicated a bronze statue of Eisenhower in Grosvenor Square, London. I suppose they should send it to the USA - and of course we should send the Statute of Liberty back to France for not supporting the USA in Iraq. Absolutely we should send back embassy gifts from China over the years.

Wonder is anyone ever mention those items being on "loan" to a particular individual ?

Well that's nice, but not what I asked. Seems fitting, though, given that we saved Churchill's ass and basically prevented the Germans from overrunning Britain and the rest of Europe. Did I miss the part where Churchill helped repel an invasion of Washington? Not that he wasn't a great man (hence Congress making him an honorary US citizen in '63).

Don't forget to mention the stuff about FEMA concentration camps and floride in the drinking water turning people into zombies, lol.

Like this ??

Putting the pieces together concerning everything from detention camps (who is building them--Halluburton-KBR), who has the private power to make up their own politcal prisoner lists from a huge data archive of privatized gov't background checks data (the Bush family through their war profiteering vehicle Carlyle Corporation subsidiary CSIS, which has the full federal 1997 'privatized' government security background checks contract, and a mine full of past security/gov't worker data on background checks); they can deliver you there to the camps via railroad: with the Bush/Cheney connections in railcar connections already noted; and the railroad shackled boxcars already reported upon.

Bush's high treason requires impeachment immediately.

Wrong ... it was an interior decorating decision. And Boehner's move was childish and stupid.

How do you know Boehner's decision to move it wasn't a "decorating decision"?

Boehner should now send Obama an iPod with all his House speeches on it.
