9 year old boy suspended for sexual harassment saying a teacher was "cute"

Student, 9 Years Old, Suspended For Sexual Harassment, Calling Teacher 'Cute' (VIDEO)

C'mon man. This is insane. I mean it's not like he was running around saying something like "Check the rack out on Ms. Johnson!". He said to a friend that she was "cute"

You can't make this stuff up.

One time I had a rager when I was called up to speak in front of my 5th grade class. My teacher was seriously sexy and she helped me pitch my first tent. I wonder what kind of punishment walking to the front of the class with a hot-teacher inspired boner might have netted me these days?

I find in general that stories like this are generally misrepresentations of what actually happened. Maybe the kid said "I'd **** that teacher" loud enough to where many people could hear it and he gets sent home and then he tells his parents "I just said the teacher was cute". I'd be surprised if what really happened was he said she was cute to a friend and they charged him with sexual harassment.

With that said, I've said much worse stuff about various teachers over the years.

That wouldn't really matter - honestly. That's not the issue.

It is not sexual harassment if it does not happen to you. Imagine women in the workplace suddenly being able to sue because "he said she said I was a milf" - how stupid!

Not according to the video. It is said on the video (near the end) that the School agrees that was all that was said. Take that for what it's worth.

Assuming this is true, this is nonsense. He's only nine years old.

if folks actually read the article, they would see it went beyond this simple comment.

Where in the article does it suggest likewise?

After a substitute teacher overheard 9-year-old Emanyea tell another student a teacher was 'cute,' school officials put him on two-day suspension for sexual harassment, WSOC TV reported.

The boy's mother, Chiquita Lockett, told the station she doesn't agree with the punishment.

"It's not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab her or touch her in a sexual way," Lockett told WSOC TV. "So why would he be suspended for two days?"

The school's code of conduct doesn't list sexual harassment, but does mention possession of any gun, rifle, pistol, firearm, prohibited substance or assault of a school employee as grounds for long-term suspension.

The incident comes after a 7-year-old Boston 1st-grader faces an investigation for sexual harassment after he allegedly struck another boy in the groin, the Boston Globe reported.

The boy's mother Tasha Lynch, however, says her child was simply defending himself, and that the boy he struck had choked him in a previous incident.

“I think my kid was right to fight back,’’ Lynch told the Globe. “He wasn’t doing anything except protecting himself.’’

Boston public schools spokesman Matthew Wilder told the publication that, although he could not give a comment, the school is carry out an investigation to see who, if anyone, should be punished.

There are actually 2 situations being discussed in one article - the groin incident is not related to this 'cute' incident or child.

Can you quote what you read that I must have missed?

The school officials agree that it was about the boy calling a teacher "cute". Not to her face, but while talking to another student. It was a sub that overheard it and reported it. What kind of sub thinks that's inappropriate?

i read another article about this incident that had much more detail.

i could swear there is another thread dealing with this. i shall seek.

There are two different incidences being discussed - one with a child having kicked another in the groin.

And this 'cute' one.

I'm sure - in the two - the same (different) stories are both being discussed.

There was a teacher at my high school who was a former Redskins cheerleader. Me and probably most of the guys in my grade said much worse things than "She's cute." What has the world come to these days.

And can we get some actual pics of the teach por favor?

Ummm no actually. Read it again. and WATCH the video.

Not entirely correct... Sexual harassment can exist if someone makes a comment about the accuser to a third party, rather than directly to the accuser. If a bunch of dudes at work are chatting amongst themselves about how they'd like to bang a female co-worker, and she finds out about it, that can be construed as sexual harassment because it creates a hostile work environment.

With that said, I agree with those who say there's probably more to the story. The kid just told his friend that the teacher was cute? I doubt it. He probably made some obscene comment, or if he DID just say that she was cute, he probably did it in a way that made it very obvious what he was actually talking about (and probably in front of more people than just his friend). The media has a tendency to magnify these local stories and put the worst possible spin on what actually happened.

There is no such thing as a right to be free from being offended. Anyone who thinks otherwise should be grossly offended on a regular basis until they cry themselves to sleep.

we have a right to not be harrassed.
Harassment is an ill-defined overreach by PC administrators thanks to meddling progressive legislators which, as these stories and so many others amply demonstrate, creates far more problems than it solves.

oh, so someone should have the right to call you on the phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, calling you hateful names?
