That's right, folks. The police did this right inside the Capitol in Madison. Unbelievable. You have to see this for yourself...............

When Walker pursued his union busting strategy, he left the police unions alone, in order to divide the citizens of Wisconsin. But most cops are not dummies.

Deck the halls with total Recall!!

Union or Not, it is police responsibility to defend the democratically elected government and not get involved in politics.

The police ARE defending democratically elected government by helping to recall Walker.

I sympathize with union workers in Wisconsin but I don't think it's the police place to do what they did.

Mr. Walker:

This memo is to inform you that your employment by the People of Wisconsin will be terminated in 2012 via recall, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 12 of the Wisconsin Constitution.

This termination is taking place because your actions in office are vulgar, deceitful, divisive, offensive and mean to so many Wisconsinites you supposedly govern. The actions of you and your supporters have made an unpatriotic stain on yourselves, Wisconsin and this entire country. They prove you to be people of ignorance, malfeasance and small intellect, unfit to lead or represent us.

Your pink slip is below. Click on it and listen to many more reasons you must go. With the exception of Teabag, the now lame horse you rode in on, no transition, relocation or other assistance will be offered to you by us. Because you are not represented by a union, this decision is final, and subject to no further appeal or discussion.

Truly wondering if you can sleep at night,

The People of Wisconsin

NOTE: I saw this, and just had to copy and paste it in here.

Being a cop means you can no longer participate in our democracy?

The cops in wisc are aware that if Scott Walker had an easy go cutting public workers pay benes and pension and taking their bargaining rights...they knew he would do them next.
Heres what NJ police and fireman were told the same thing by Gov Chrisie he was LIEING LIKE A RUG...at least Scott walker kept his word...not thats a real sleezy liar in action...read his own words yourself

Christie campaign letter promised 'no harm' to police, firefighter pensions

Jet I agree with you..that it is their responsiblity..but the assault on public workers by teaparty supported govs has brought out strong emotions..and changed the playing field...The cops fully realize that is Scott Walker was allowed to shred public employees other than cops and fireman untethered and unchallenged...they would be next.. I dont blame them for becoming political because politics are threatening them..and somewhere along the line be it public or private the working class has to take a stand...or just fade into a two caste system...the 1% have all..the rest have nothing...this battle has to be fought...imho

Recall Walker! Resume Unions Deals that the state cannot afford! GO GO UNION POWER! **** Fiscal responsibility! **** a solvent State! GO GO UNIONS!!!

i disagree.
they are paid to 'serve and protect' the public.

And that's exactly what they are doing - Serving and protecting the public by working to counter a direct threat to democracy in Wisconsin.

Now that's just silly. A democraticaly elected governor and congress deciding how to close a multi billion dollar deficit is a threat to democracy, simply because you don't agree with the way they chose to do it? Get over yourself.

The police that were involved should be suspended and probably fired for doing what they did while in uniform and on duty.

on their own time while not in uniform, i agree
but not while on the clock wearing the uniform

They can wear whatever they like. While on duty, they ought to be doing their duty. But in this instance, are they on duty during this protest? Nothing in the video suggests that they are.

Any idea what the surrounding event was while these police officers were dropping their little bombshell?? (the singers and such??)

I finally watched it, and the video is being run in reverse. You can see people walking backwards. The police were taking it down, not utting it up. Too funny.

There are laws against cops engaging in political activities while in uniform. So, no.. They really can't really wear whatever they like.

it doesn't matter. you don't engage in any form of political activism while in uniform.

Got it wrong...more tax cuts they cant afford...public workers provide a service most softbutted teapartiers cant do..

Yup but not at the expense of themselves...see the double standard ...you want to hold the police to standards none of the private sector are held too...you want them to be there when you need them...risk their lives to protect the public...and on the other hand they arent allowed to protect themselves like regular citizens...and its ok to cut their pay and benefits to give out tax cuts...nah doesnt work for me sorry

I know quite a few cops who are tea party sympathizers, and more than a few military members who are as well.

methinks once again you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the Tea Party membership. you do realize that you can't just read public union diatribes and pass that off as evidence? The Tea Party is an interest group pushing for less government. Public Sector Unions have a strongly vested interest in more government. The latter is not exactly going to be straightforward about the former.

Hah! Beautiful. That's great.

There is a point at which being unbiased is no longer the right thing to do. Sometimes the best thing to do when significant harm is being done is to stand up. This has happened in the military, the police force, and journalists - three professions which take their ethics and duties so seriously they're nearly neurotic about it, at least if they're any good.

And yet some of their very finest moments are when they recognize it is time to stand up. To do their jobs to the best of their ability, sometimes they have to break rank.

I don't begrudge them that. It's not something to be taken lightly. But when it needs to be done, it needs to be done. Sometimes things get so out of control that being impartial is more harmful than helpful.

You're correct, good catch.
