Georgetown Students Uncover Vast Underground China Nuke Complex

i've looked through an ir lens at night into a sailboat quite far away.....it is like x-ray vision. very cool.

As usual, you don't know what the hell you are talking about. You maybe saw the boat, but you didn't see THROUGH the boat. IR is NOT like x-ray vision.

And..........an IR lens is not the same as an IR camera.

Look up a Fluke thermal imager. And they're cheap, outdated equipment compared to what the US military has. The old red and green colored blobs you saw with IR camera's was outdated for the govn back in the early 90's. The picture above was taken with an x-ray enhanced thermal imaging device. Even night vision goggles are based on infrared technology.

Bwaaa Haaaaa.... a Fluke is a cheap camera by any standard. I haven't seen red and green blobs in an IR camera since I used an old Hughs in 1988.

A x-ray enhanced thermal imaging device ????? Sorry, there is no such thing.

One other thing, night vision goggles are NOT based on IR technology. They magnify existing visible light. IR sees only IR wavelengths that are not visible to the human eye.

I don't care how much you pound your fist and hop and down red faced, I've seen it with my own eyes. I didn't say you could see detail but you can make out human shaped images easily if there's no other heat source near them. Besides that they have sonar based equipment that can also make out shapes underground. You just want to be right.

A x-ray enhanced thermal imaging device ????? Sorry, there is no such thing.

Are you absolutely positive? You've checked with every govn and corporate R&D? I doubt it.

And many night vision goggles have PULSE IR Illumination, so wrong again.

Then feel free to prove me wrong. Post information on this mystical x-ray thermal imager. I've been in the business for 25 years, so I'm not going to hold by breath.

You've been wrong on so many points, like the night vision goggles, that I'm highly skeptical of any claim you make. My slr digital camera uses an ir light to assist in focusing, but that doesn't make it see infrared wavelengths.

Grip, you are completely and utterly ignorant. You don't even understand the difference between a technology demonstration and an operational weapons system. There are absolutely no anti-ballistic LASER weapons or hypersonic aircraft that can do anything beyond research. Thermal imaging can NOT detect a nuclear weapon buried deep under ground from space.

At the current moment China is more than capable of successfully delivering enough warheads to utterly obliterate the US. They have 200+ warheads and can deliver them from ICBM's or submarines. The idea that any ABM system is the world can stop them is utter fantasy.

I could post a counterargument, but you posting an article from tvtropes as though it were a factual source undermines your credibility far more than I ever could.

She reads Ayn Rand and watches Fox News.

Nuff said.

You actually made me laugh rathi about tvtropes, though Gill did also. I like to be called on BS, so I'll give you two your props :lamo

At least give me this one. Had you ever heard or seen anything like the Stealth Helicopter used in the Bin Laden op? Me either and if the special forces can hide that technology, what else? You know a lot of modern military tech came out of NASA and SDI, including a supposed high velocity railgun. By the time the rest of the world hears of it the govn has probably had some of it operational for years. Don't tell me they don't hide stuff? I still believe the US has radar technology that penetrates the surface. And I know China is more than capable of throwing the hammer at us but I wasn't worried about that because they actually have as much to loose now.

I leave you with meleagris impedicus. You'll have to Google each word separately.

grip. stop. please. before you hurt yourself.

"repeticious"? lol!

I have been caught! Kick the tires and light the fires babeeee... woohoo,, booya!

Gill I've seen infrared thermal imaging from a military spy plane and it practically is like x-ray vision. You can make out shapes right thru the walls or ground. Drives me crazy when people talk before they've seen something new.

What you say is interesting and may actually be true, I don't know. I DO know that isn't a real house. Real houses don't have bathrooms the same size as a living room, and a bedroom the size of a closet. I would be interested in some actual pics of infrared thermal imaging, though, if you can rummage some up.

Ask and received. I think that crazy x-ray image is photo shopped. These are two different thermal image types the first is penetrative and shows vaguely the outline of a woman on the second floor in red hue and the second is a digital night vision shot.

Re the video/interview:

If the Chinese government said two years ago that they had these tunnels: what did this college research group discover over the last 3 years?

I'm not following what's already known-knowledge and what was discovered.

Empirica:
A student researh project uncovers a bit more than they probably expected.

Probably the sheer size (3000 miles) of them Aunt. Govn's are famous for half truths and misinformation. I could be wrong.

The Fox video is all the information I have seen.

My brain locked up as a result of too many sarcastic comments trying to get out at the same time. :2rofll:

Yes. There was a prototype stealth helicopter called the Comanche built in 1996. Don't assume everyone is as ignorant as you.

You know a lot of modern military tech came out of NASA and SDI, including a supposed high velocity railgun.

There is nothing supposed about railguns. The Navy has built and fired numerous prototypes in the last few years.

I still believe the US has radar technology that penetrates the surface.

Ground penetrating radars have been around for a long time. However, they don't work from space and can't identify objects in tunnels.

<shakes head> That is NOT a woman, it is the outside wall.

I'm sure the special ops were using a 16yr old stealth helicopter design that they cancelled, you genius

I knew they had a railgun (you fail again) that's why I mentioned it ;)

Satellite-based GPR has been used to find underground geologic formations and to map large archaeological sites and ruins for years, you high IQ

And poor Gill thinks women are shaped like walls... bahahaha

I've proved you two nimrods wrong over and over with facts and links and all you have is sarcasm and no grace,, you don't even know what meleagris impedicus is when I gave it to you :lamo

So, I guess we're still considering Fox "News" (as the call it) mainstream media.

I guess it is mainstream. And it is media.

But its hardly news.

Moderator's Warning:
Thread moved. Does not meet Mainstream Media sticky criteria.

downgraded to 2.0... well, that's a step in the right direction.

the video mentioned no one in particular. so, you threw out a partisan assumption without any basis in fact.

but a solid basis in history. generally conservatives do not run around accusing Americans of trying to spark arms races between ourselves and other nations.
