Interesting scenario. What do you think?

Richmond Tea Party Sues City: Charge #Occupy Protesters Or Refund $10,000 For Rallies at Plaza | The Gateway Pundit

The Richmond Tea Party is demanding a refund from the city for $10,000 it spent on for permits, portable toilets, police presence and emergency personnel for three rallies held at same plaza where the Occupy Richmond squatters set up their camp.
The Republic reported:

The Richmond tea party is demanding a refund of about $10,000 from the city, claiming it unfairly charged them for rallies while allowing the Occupy protesters to use the same space for several weeks for free.
The political organization is sending the city an invoice for the charges incurred for three rallies held in Kanawha Plaza over the past three years. The Occupy protesters have been camped in the plaza since Oct. 15.
Richmond Tea Party spokeswoman Colleen Owens says it’s not fair that her group had to pay fees for permits, portable toilets, police presence and emergency personnel. The group also had to purchase a $1 million insurance policy.

That's friggin' hillarious!

But, hey, we all know the law doesn't apply to the Libbos. So, they may not have a case.

The tea party is an organization, the occupy protesters not necessarily.

 That'll teach them not to exercise their right to peaceful assembly.

Can you show us in the Richmond city ordinance where that makes a damn bit of difference?

One thing for sure, the OWS'ers aren't an orginization. They're a cluster ****.

So we are suing you because you exercised your rights? Hmmmmmmm interesting...
Can i sue the tea party then for all those dumb rallies and all that trash and effort of bringing in extra police officers at their rallies?

I think this shows exactly what is important to Conservatives these days. Not lower spending, or smaller government -- poking liberals with sticks. It's why when they win elections, none of the things they say are important to them actually happen.

That's really what you got out of this?

It sounds to me like they just want things to be fair.

the OWS is turning out to be a lot like wall street.

playing with taxpayer money likes it's their own, breaking laws with no accountability, polluting while others clean their mess, and sucking up resources they had no hand in creating.

I would sue to get my permit fees back as well.... if the city is going to allow unrestricted protests for one group, they need to allow it for all groups... period.

of course, the proper, responsible , way to handle this is to require the OWS to pay for the necessary permits and facilities required by law..... not that I believe any of them will pay, but it's still the right thing to do.

So we are suing you because you exercised your rights?

No, their sueing because their constitutional rights have been violated.

Can i sue the tea party then for all those dumb rallies and all that trash and effort of bringing in extra police officers at their rallies?

No, you can't. If you had bothered to read the OP, you would have noticed that the TP'ers in Richmond paid for all that, themselves.

Why don't the OWS'ers take some of the burden off the tax payers, by footing the bill for the cost of their goat **** fest?

The Tea-Bagger Party is such a bunch of whiny assholes.

that may very well be so.. but they paid their way to be whiny assholes.. the OWS are freeloading whiny assholes.

so, do you have a good reason why the TP should have to pay and the OWS should not?

yes, I have many good reasons why TP should pay.

yes, I have many good reasons why TP should pay.

Such as....?

I challenge you to come up with one, just one, unbiased, apolitical reason for why the TP should pay for these protests and the OWS should not.

surely any answer I can possibly come up with, will be judged as political and biased, by supporters of the TP Party.

don't bother asking... he doesn't do valid arguments or debate.

tea baggers, like NAMBLA and ACT UP are allied with the dems.

I'll take this one:

It's because Libbos believe that free speech is reserved for them and them only.

I hope they get their money back. We already pay fees to protest in public spaces -- they're called taxes.

Most of your posts are pure bigotry. It's like without "Libbos," you would have no identity of your own.

Try us. If you really can't think of one, then it's ok to admit it.

actually...it doesn't matter. Most of their membership are pedophiles first and foremost.

Racist pedophiles... who torture kittens and eat their own feces. Don't forget that.
