Let me get this straight they are cooking food for occupy wall street protesters but are complaining about fixing food for freeloaders.

Occupy Wall Street kitchen slowdown targets squatters - NYPOST.com
The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday -- because they’re angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for “professional homeless” people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.
For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.
They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.

Another propaganda article.

The fact that you're having an emotional response should prove that the mass media has, once again, claimed another victim.

Once you get emotional, your critical thinking skills go out the window. Try not to let that happen.

What the hell are you talking about it?Please keep your little conspiracies and other nonsense to this forum section. Conspiracy Theories

I laughed my ass off and nearly ran off the road when I heard this today.

How ironic is it that OWS'ers are bitching about having to work their asses off to feed a bunch of free loaders?

Sorry man, Public Relations is a science of feelings and emotions.

A $10 billion dollar a year industry, not including those in the direct employ of businesses and political organizations.

Google "public relations".

Wander around a little bit. "Trade" sites are great.

When you see how these folks talk aboit the rest of the population you may be singing a different tune.

What you WON'T be doing is dismissing this stuff like uncorns and UFOs.

Let me put this a different way. Stop your selective outrage. There are thousand good and a thousand bad things happening in a crowd of that size.

There is no ONE story that represents all of them.

If you were in a crowd of conservative protesters, and a small group of them were doing something odd or questionable, how would you feel if the media kept doing pieces on what that small group was doing and make it fit some representation of you? You would be outraged.

Yet here we are, with you turning around and doing the same thing to others. You think conservatives and libetarians would have learned what that felt like during the Tea Party movement, when they were constantly characterized as a bunch of racist bigots with no real concern for the welfare of America.

People never learn.

How are the OWS'ers feeding the fat cats on wall street? I can't wait to hear this.

Oh another article from the blatantly conservative tabloid - the NY Post.

Im glad you know how Law Enforcement Officers feel...........

Im also glad you know that a group of that size is chaos, and uncontrollable............

Thanks for this post.. I'll refer back to it often in future OWS debates with you.

That's pretty much a redundant statement!!! :lamo

In other words, they are making the argument for the Right regarding welfare, illegal immigration, and general laziness.

When lib-tards were calling the tea party members tea baggers, racists and other words did you piss bitch and moan about selective outrage?

You do not see irony in the OP? I don't sense any outrage in the OP. I think he's more laughing his ass off. As am I. Come on....lighten up....ya' gotta' admit it's funny. Or don't liberals laugh at themselves every once in a while?

My experience is some liberals don't have the ability to laugh at all, I see a bunch of them in the real world who get almost murderously serious if you say anything against whatever little cause they hold dear........not all of them mind you.......but at least a decent percentage. Then again there are some people on the conservative side who are way too serious about their niche issues as well.

Good post. People who focus on such silly things tend to be the ones who need, for whatever reason, a distraction from the ideas of whatever group they're criticizing. It's actually quite pathetic really.

Actually it speaks volumes about the issue. We have people who are being overworked trying to feed people who demand more of others outside of the movement. The people trying to feed the others find that there are more hands out every day and they are working constantly harder for less return. It's a perfect example of how people feel having to work themselves half to death to make the kind of money that gets heavily penalized by the tax code. It's a very valid thread and not exactly the distraction some people claim.

The article is from the New York Post, a blatantly conservative tabloid newspaper. You might have a point if I were confident that the story was even true or even that the feelings expressed in it were widespread or even that it wasn't just another conservative attempt to cast a bad light on OWS.

It's a legitimate newspaper, you may not like that they choose articles more to the right, but the stories are just as true as those in the opposing New York Times, or the Washington Post.

As someone who has a Broadcasting background, you have to acknowledge that the rights insistence on broadcasting EVERY SINGLE NEGATIVE THING that can be found on OWS leads to the perceptual fallacy that the evening news creates: that the world is more dangerpus than it actually is.

Seeing every bad thing that happens on the news is because that's what sells news. We think of ONLY the child that was killed, not the millions who weren't.

This causes a misapprehension of reality. I can't remember offhand what its called, but it is an accepted phenomenon and has a formal name.

The fact that we have seen DOZENS of negative reports of the protests, many of which are false or deliberately deceptive, and many simply repackaged to appear "new", leads people to believe that its a horrible, dangerous thing.

It is NOT intended to give an accurate, objective impression, as no positive or ameliorating information is ever provided. Toomuchtime posted the only direct counter to any of this where one of the Occupations was NOT upset about feeding the homeless.

That as much energy is being spent on a deliberately deceptive PR campaign is actually a very good sign, as it means that OWS is working. Our dialogue is beginning to include subject matter vested interests spend a LOT of money encouraging folks not to think about.

I will say this. There is very little actual reporting done these days, there are about three maybe four news wire services that do the bulk of reporting with the AP being the most prominant. With that being a reality different news outlets decide which of those stories to run based on the lean, this doesn't make their coverage necessarily untrue but rather selective. Sometimes news can be skewed by reporting more of one side than another, that tends to happen in political matter frequently though, obviously not in this case because these are the facts in the subjects own words on a one sided story, obviously the side of the served isn't all that important to the story because it changes nothing in the sentiment of those working the kitchens.

Long story short this is an accurate story released by a legitimate paper, the lean does not affect the story. People who are on the protesters side want to dismiss it as a cheap shot, it's not that at all because in the servers own words they feel taken advantage of more or less.

The NY Post is not a legitimate newspaper. It is a conservative TABLOID newspaper. It's used to be legitimate, but then Murdoch took it over and changed its focus. The idea that it's only the level of the NY Times or the Washington Post or a similar paper like the Wall Street Journal is preposterous. Not only does it have the classic tabloid print style, it also sensationalizes everything, makes stuff up and selectively spins things in order to paint a negative portrait of the left. There is nothing legitimate about it.

They all use the same newswire services. The Post is legit.

It's actually not at all, but the fact that you think it is doesn't bode well for your grasp on reality.
