It's got to be tough for police to do the job these peoples parents should have done earlier in their lives.
A-frickin'-men.

Hell of a lot more humane than attack dogs and firehoses.
You make it sound like the protesters are innocent victims....
What are they doing that is illegal?
They aren't preventing anyone from using the park. All are welcome.Which right allows OWS protesters to occupy a common area indefinitely, preventing other citizens from using it?
Personally, I don't see why that is necessary. I actually think this is what the FF were trying to block, government being able to "control" protests. AKA, permits.protesting without a permit.
People in this country have a right to peaceably assemble, which they did.
We didn't sing that song Fid. We sang Give peace a Chance. It's humorous that they try to bring back the 1960s counterculture so much they are singing "we shall overcome" (which had already lost much of its meaning by the time the hippies grabbed it).
Was that before, after, or did you do a mid song mash-up of **** YOU ****ING PIGS!!! Cuz...I hear an awful lot of that in the videos...We didn't sing that song Fid. We sang Give peace a Chance.
I do recall The Fish Cheer. I suppose that would count. Was that before, after, or did you do a mid song mash-up of **** YOU ****ING PIGS!!! Cuz...I hear an awful lot of that in the videos...
Ummm, Fiddy, "We shall overcome" was the anthem of the civil rights movement in the early 1960s - it was before hippies existed. It's humorous that they try to bring back the 1960s counterculture so much they are singing "we shall overcome" (which had already lost much of its meaning by the time the hippies grabbed it).
That and "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die Rag", and "War"We didn't sing that song Fid. We sang Give peace a Chance.

And some of them are on this forum.
I could say the same exact thing for practically every single person here and for every single generalization/insult.
I think you just did. Fun, huh?
Actually, I think what your doing is going beyond a simple political debate and is starting to get personal. And I think the same can be said about me.
I suggest we both take a step back, take a deep breather, and then come back to this later. Fair?
Finn, you're taking this much too personally. There are times when I do need to "take a breath" on this forum...but this sure isn't one of them. Lighten up, my friend.
Hey, I'm OK. Remember, its hard to tell sometimes when people are being serious or not on this forum because of its very nature.
In any case, I think I need to take a break from this forum myself.
They were told to move or they might get hurt. Someone got hurt. Why didn't he move like he was told?
So you are A-OK with the police flash grenading medics trying to remove an injured man? To me, this proves the police showed wanton disregard for public safety. They were told to move or they might get hurt. Someone got hurt. Why didn't he move like he was told?

The police stopping media outlets from filming shows the police knew the facts were not going to support their contention that they were attacked first and took reasonable action. It also indicates that the police knew this was likely going to result in serious injuries or death and proceeded anyway.
Let's start with the creators and editors of the Occupy Wall Street Journal. Surely you would agree that the people feeding information and opinion to the protesters in the form of the official newspaper are leaders, right?
I think the point he was making is that this was no "dirty hippie", as FOX News, along with assholes of their ilk, likes to describe the protesters. He is a soldier, who served 2 tours in Iraq.
