Why don't YOU do some research about how the crooks on Wall Street nearly brought this country to it's knees.

All I asked is for you to look up the creator and editor of the Occupy Wall Street Journal and you just won't do it. You're refusing to learn. As a teacher and someone who LOVES learning new things, this baffles me. Perhaps we are not a good pair debating on this forum as you can't be bothered with facts. :peace

Get a clue Mellie, I don't give crap who was the creator and editor of the Occupy Wall Street Journal, I guarantee most of the protesters aren't protesting because of the freaking Occupy Wall Street Journal. Here is their problem:

I heard when I clicked on the tube after work that "Occupiers" somewhere were actually singing, "We Shall Overcome."

Wasn't sure whether to puke or cry...so I just laughed and shook my head.

They were not disbanded at all. Some of their branches got shut down, but many simply changed their name. Its organization remains in a different form.

You are implying there was ever something to discredit. The more I have looked into this movement the more obvious it becomes that this was never a grassroots movement in the first place. No one is hijacking it as some have claimed, just asserting the position of power that they already held over it.

On March 22, 2010, National ACORN spokesman Kevin Whelan says the organization's board decided to close remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1 because of falling revenues.

Except ACORN did not disband after said bankruptcy. Like I said, various state offices simply changed their names after the bankruptcy. They "closed" in the sense that basically someone took away the sign saying ACORN and replaced it with a different name.

Why do you care about the Koch brothers? Honestly, the only difference between my concerns and yours is that I object to any big interest manipulating the masses with faux "grassroots" movements. Some people only care about big interests when they are favoring the "other side" of the spectrum.
 
Is it any surprise that ACORN (or whatever names they go by now) is involved with OWS?

After all, they were instrumental in the housing bubble that did great damage to our economy. The OWS movement's ultimate goal is the end of capitalism so this is right up ACORN's alley.

Nevada Judge Calls ACORN 'Reprehensible,' Slaps Group With Maximum Fine For Voter Fraud | Fox News

A Nevada judge on Wednesday gave ACORN, the defunct grass-roots community organization, the maximum fine for its illegal voter-registration scheme in that state.

District Court Judge Donald Mosley was blunt and unsparing in his criticism of the discredited activist group. Citing the long history of voter registration fraud allegations that engulfed ACORN across the country, he slapped the group with a $5,000 fine for violating Nevada election law during the 2008 presidential election.

If I had an individual in this courtroom...who was responsible for this kind of thing, I would put that person in prison for 10 years, hard time, and not think twice about it," he said. "To me this is reprehensible. This is the kind of thing you see in some banana republic, Uruguay or someplace, not in the United States."

They were convicted for this...
The group paid a bonus to workers to sign up 21 or more voters per shift, calling the program "21," or "Blackjack."

It is illegal in Nevada to pay bonuses to register voters.

I would be less proud of being associated with conservatives efforts to erect as many unnecessary hurdles for Americans (albeit a certain group of Americans) opportunity to actually vote.

Or such devious tactics as a David Koch founded group, Americans For Prosperity, sending out absentee ballots to Wisconsin Democratic voters with the deadline date being days AFTER the actual deadline date.
