All the world is a stage and in this year’s GOP presidential race, it is a reality show soundstage cluttered with clownish characters auditioning for the role of commander in chief.
A bemused audience of political spectators and cable chatterers has been entertained this year by a fallen speaker, a pizza mogul, a wild-eyed ideologue, a billionaire developer and a hockey mom from Alaska.
Two of those actors have starred in actual reality shows, but — here’s the hook — no one in this actors’ studio is qualified to be president.

Nobody will remember this stuff a year from now when unemployment is still 9% and Biden is still popping off about the choice being betwen rapes and recovery.

Yep. I am not impressed with the choices I'm being given. I really don't like the current administration, but I have no faith that any of the choices out there would be a real improvement. This country needs a viable third (and fourth) party.

The only thing a third party will do is put Obama back in the White House four more years.

Probably true. Mostly because it would take a lot longer than a year for that party to gain the necessary following to get elected. I think the new party is necessary long-run, however. Maybe it should start in 2013.

You should take over one of the major parties, like the Marxists took over the Democrat party in 2008 and the Tea Party took over the Republicans in 2010.

That's the best path to change.

please, let us know when we should take your posts seriously.

The Tea Party decimated the Democrat stranglehold on the country in 2010 and they will finish the job in 2012.

I you're looking for Jon Huntsman on steriods, you're wasting your time.

Only a third of the Senate comes up for a vote every two years. Republicans did well, but there will be more D seats up next time, and more D Senators already retiring.

It takes two election cycles to take the Senate.

I was more disappointed about Harry Reid, but he buys every vote he can and he's a hard guy to take down.

that is really funny coming from you and I take his posts seriously.

I have to admit that the Republican presidential nomination campaign this year has been almost as entertaining as Palin was in 2008. Maybe the Tea Party should start its own comedy network - they've got some real talent in that area. Fortunately for the country, they don't have anyone with the talent to be POTUS

When I first heard that Biden said something like that, I just shook my head and said oh no. Then I looked into exactly what he said, and he is 100% on point. If you decrease the number of police in a force, crime will increase, including rape.

Oh and I agree with you, in a year, it will be Herb who?

A secretary in Park City, Utah should not subsidize a cop in Flint, Michigan.

Those are my sentiments exactly...what a lousy bunch of choices on both sides. Americans do not like the far left nor the far right....
I think it will whittle down to Obama vs Romney....which is a nightmare for the teaparty

The TEA is coming home to roost.

Let's see. The most recent example of compromise was blowing up the debt ceiling by another $2.5T.

Is this what you mean by playing to the middle?

Interesting response. What does this have to do with Biden saying if you cut police forces, crime will rise?

Please elaborate. Do you mean to say that Obama was a compromise between the far left and far right? I would have to disagree due to my belief that he is far left. I'm curious if I'm misunderstanding your sentiment.

Actually I was hoping the teaparty didnt compromise so as to speed up their death nell....which is coming anyway...but faster would be better

Depends, what kind of car does she drive?

That far-right-Libertarian notion that it's every man for himself is both ignorant and anti-American.

He is insisiting a local need is a national responsibility.

States and cities pay cops.
