I think this is s fluke and will not give him more credibility or traction.
Too many people think he's nut job.
He does have a few positions that are not exactly main stream Conservative.

pollRon Paul Wins Values Voter Straw Poll - Fox News

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul has won the 2011 Values Voter Summit Presidential Straw Poll. The Texas congressman and straw poll darling pulled in 37 percent of the vote.
Despite his success here, Paul repeatedly scores in the single digits in national polls, including the latest Fox News polls that has him at 6 percent.
Riding the "Hermentum" of last month's Florida Presidential 5 Straw Poll victory, Atlanta businessman Herman Cain came in second with 23 percent. Cain was followed by former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum at 16 percent.

Indeed so what can we gather from this? The country's debt is the #1 concern.

RP's winning lots of straw polls, but it doesn't really seem like it's taking him anywhere.

I'll be good if the winner announces that he is going to make Paul Treasury secretary.

this is meaningless

Well, at least it's better than an internet poll.

six of one, half a dozen of the other. Ron Paul winning anything is meaningless.

I doubt he'll take a position from any of the status quo candidates unless they come around to some of his positions.

Straw polls never mean much (unless someone else wins) but it'll give him some boost in the polls. His base is built like stone, so it only grows. It also what his campaign needed since it was a bit gloomy for awhile.

It means it really is about our debt.

Someone from goldman sachs is already picked for them in that cabinet. XD

Would he actually shut the place down and fire himself? Hmmm.

It's happened before, albeit on smaller scales. A Libertarian here in Houston ran for Hide Inspector a few years ago. After he was elected, he disbanded the agency. LOL.
