Speaking of military matters, Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia might get a further taste of it over the next few years. Blitzer reminded the President that he had bought the girls a puppy as a gift after his election in 2008. "What are you going to get them the next time, if you're reelected?" he asked. Obama's response:

When I'm reelected, what I'll be getting them is a continuation of Secret Service so that when boys want to start dating them they are going to be surrounded by men with guns. That's their gift.

Ok, now THAT is pretty damned funny.

Re: Obama's gift to Sasha and Malia should he be reelected.

They're going to have that, anyway, when he gets voted out.

He's a dud.

A dud you'll be dealing with for another 4.

You'd vote for GWBush again if you could...

Re: Obama's gift to Sasha and Malia should he be reelected.

With the nags you righties are running out there, you won't have a choice.
doubtful, very doubtful, at this point.

Re: Obama's gift to Sasha and Malia should he be reelected.

I have to admit that is a pretty funny joke. However Apdst is right, all living former presidents and their families get Secret Service protection for life.

Not anymore dude...

President of the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Until 1997, all former presidents, and their families, were protected by the Secret Service until the president's death. The last president to have lifetime Secret Service protection is Bill Clinton; George W. Bush and all subsequent presidents will be protected by the Secret Service for a maximum of ten years after leaving office.[56]

yeah that 4.9% unemployment rate looks pretty good right now

Yeah, I love when the economy's strength is based on speculation in a brand new market. Exaggerated expectations and huge transactions with money that didn't exist sets up a fantastic bubble burst. You remember the 90's right? And then around 2002 when things started to decline. And then how the policies enacted during that year and the several subsequent to it not only exacerbated the problems that already existed, but set up a whole batch of new ones that brought us into the recession we're presently in.

But yeah, the employment rate under Bill Clinton was pretty good.

funny you mention a big bubble burst and Bill Clinton.

Re: Obama's gift to Sasha and Malia should he be reelected.

Unless Obama makes a drastic change in his thinking and actions he is going to see an unemployment rate the will be the highest at the time of the 2012 election than anyone in office has ever survived.

For one who people claim is brilliant he has continued to do the stupidest things he could do that have in the past been shown to be failed policies.

A 3 year old learns that if you put your hand in a fire it burns you. Obama doesn't get, and I have no clue why.

I don't like anything about Obama and I have made no secret of it, but I do want him to succeed because if he does the right thing we all benefit.

So far he has failed to do the right thing and we all suffer for it, and not just us but the ripple effect throughout the rest of the world is going to be devastating unless he changes his ways

Clinton was a better President than the last 2 clowns put together.

I see. Rush makes a racist joke and it's "Oh, he made a joke. Don't you libs have a sense of humor?" Obama makes a joke and it's "He's a dud."

Gotta love the knee-jerk right.

that is true but that whole NAFTA thing really bites the big one. Ross Perot was right.

Vs. Obama, you bet!! Bush didn't have a net job loss, didn't have 25 million unemployed and under employed, didn't have a credit downgrade, and didn't oversee 4 trillion added to the debt in 3 years.

That is the perception that the media has built and you bought although it doesn't matter today. Clinton isn't on the 2012 ballot but the Obama record is, net job loss, 25 plus million Americans unemployed and under employed, declining labor force, rising misery index, credit downgrade, 4 trillion added to the debt in 3 years.

Posters have repeatedly pointed out to you the extent of your "causation = correlation" and post hoc ergo propter hoc logical fallacies. You engage in such fallacies on an almost hourly basis, if not more frequently. The fact that you simply refuse to learn from your mistakes, after having them pointed out to you dozens of times, speaks volumes of your ideological hackishness.

That is what some people do all the time yet never respond to the results generated all in a feeble attempt to divert from that record. Facts always confuse some people who prefer rhetoric and how they feel. They have no problem blaming someone else but never accepting responsibility for the choice they made. Your causation = correlation argument is only used to defend your choice but never applied to other Administrations.

When do liberals ever learn from their mistakes? Liberals continue to choose rhetoric over results and the Obama rhetoric brainwashed a lot of people who willingly bought it without considering history and the failures of that rhetoric to generate positive results.

No, it's reality. Clinton was better than Bush and Obama put together. He put together a deal with Gingrich which, if nothing else, got the budget closer to balanced than at any other time in the last 30 years. Reagan didn't do it. Neither Bush did it. And Obama didn't do it. The economy was growing, which is more than you can say for Obama. He didn't get us involved in bankrupting decade-long wars because of faulty intelligence.

Way better than Bush or Obama. Not even close. I'd even guess better than Gore and McCain put together would have been (though that's hard to say, it's just speculation).

I know your partisanship makes it impossible for you to say anything nice about Clinton, or anything bad about Bush. That's a shame that you just swallow the GOP rhetoric so completely. You bring up Obama's record after I've already said in the past that I won't be voting for him unless the GOP candidate is completely useless. You can't see Bush's record. You can't see his utter failure, because he's a Republican. I hope the GOP at least pay you a good salary for mindlessly spitting out their empty promises.

Probably when you realize your mistakes and stop buying the Bush rhetoric over the Bush results. Even if you don't blame him 3 years down the road, the results stink worse than a Texas hog farm in July.

It doesn't matter today what you or I believe that clinton did, Clinton isn't on the ballot, the Obama record is. I didn't vote for Obama because of his resume and won't be voting for Obama this time because of his record. Comparing Clinton to Bush does nothing but divert from the Obama record. I voted for Bush because his opponent was Gore, and I voted for him again because his opponent was Kerry,

I kept hearing how dumb Bush was and how poorly he spoke so what Bush rhetoric? I prefer bea.gov, bls.gov, and the U.S. Treasury Dept. actual numbers to rhetoric. When I go to those sites I see a different picture of what was accomplished vs. what the media sold you. Those same sites show Obama to be a disaster so as badly as you want to divert to Clinton or Bush, results matter over rhetoric.

See, the funny thing is, I voted for Obama because his opponent was McCain. I think it was anyway. Looked kind of like him but didn't sound like him.
