Poll: Debt ceiling deal should include cuts and tax increases

What you fail to understand is that clinton raised taxes and then lost the Congress in 1994.. That led to implementation of a pro growth economic policy including the 1997 tax cuts. Weren't you old enough then to know that taxes were cut?

What is it with you that you worry more about money going to the govt. than the taxpayer who earns it first?

Tax Cuts, Not the Clinton Tax Hike, Produced the 1990s Boom

Well those '97 Republican tax cuts certainly helped fuel the dotcom bubble, just as the 2001-03 Republican cuts helped fuel the real estate bubble. Great work, Brownie.

Right, people keeping more of their own money is always a bad thing in your world, isn't it? Are you sending your Bush tax cuts back?

Oh ****, the top 1% will have slightly less money if we raise taxes enough to fix the deficit! Oh, the horror!

Typical response from a "progressive." How do you know that raising taxes on the rich will create more revenue to the govt. and that if it does happen the money will be used to lower the deficit?
The Democratic hero Bill Clinton added 1.3 trillion to the debt in 8 years. It really is a shame that liberals/progressives have been brainwashed by an ideology that promotes higher taxes so the govt. has more money to spend when the reality is those higher taxes aren't going to put 24 plus million unemployed/under employed Americans back to work full time.

Keep buying that liberal rhetoric that promotes dependence.

Hate to break it to you, but we couldn't fix this deficit if we took every single penny from the top 1%.

Wonder what it is about liberalism that creates this kind of loyalty? Amazing how brainwashed so many are and how the liberal rhetoric has created such flawed thinking. Don't understand why so many have such passion for increasing taxes on one class of people thus promoting class warfare.

Notice how liberals make a statement, get a response, then then go silent?

I know what you mean. I think a lot of them were picked on by the popular kids in school and resent all successful people now.

Like how Gill said he was going to show us major bills that are routinely voted on without any amendments by the other chamber in Congress?

Conservative, here is the deal - you have an ideology, and that's fine. But it's an ideology only. It's not intelligence, or debating style, or logic. There are plenty of completely stupid, irrational, dishonest conservatives, and plenty of intelligent, logical, truthful liberals. And vice versa. It takes away from your credibility when you confuse these things. Just debate issues.

How's that search going, Gill?

Debating the issues means actually showing and arguing the facts presented. I have posted the obama results alone with the links for those results but they go ignored. You want to argue facts? Tell me how much revenue increasing the taxes on the rich will generate for the Treasury and your proof that will happen? Facts are irrefutable. Please refute the Obama debt, unemployment, employment, civilian labor force, misery index numbers? Debating issues to you and others seems to mean that your opinion is fact whereas actual verifiable data isn't.

Obama claims he saved us from another Depression. What did he do to do that? What economic policies has Obama implemented that has created verifiable positive economic results that were better than when he took office. Do you believe we have a growing population including workers over the age of 16? If so why is the labor force declining?

I am here for honest debate but opinions aren't fact.

If you want honest debate, simply ask for it and point out when you're not getting it. Wailing about "libbos" is also not honest debate.

I have posted the Obama results over and over again only to be ignored just like you are doing now. Guess it is easier diverting from those results vs. addressing them.

That's not the point. The point is that you need to stop throwing ideology into everything.

answer: A post by Conservative

All I ever see from you is diversion and don't blame you for you cannot defend the facts that I have posted. The Obama results are there for all to see. Why are you ignoring them? Facts are verifiable and come from non partisan sites, not economists, CBO projections, or op ed pieces. I welcome the challenge to the facts presented.

Are there more or less employed today than when Obama took office?
Is the civilian labor force higher or lower than when Obama took office
Is the unemployment higher or lower than it was when Obama took office?
Is the misery indext higher or lower today than when Obama took office?
Has there been 4.5 trillion added to the debt since Obama took office?
Were there 1.1 million discouraged workers that weren't counted last month in the unemployment number?
Is the GDP higher or loser this year vs. last year?
Did 315,000 drop out of the labor force last month?
Are there 24 million unemployed/under employed Americans in November 2011 and is that higher or lower than when Obama took office?

Aw, so many questions and yet you and others run from the answers.

All you'll do is throw out "buncha liberals" and "libbos" and all that, and move on. That's the problem.

Keep diverting from the post, misterman. As i recall you do that a lot. It is liberals that support Obama and his policies thus it is liberals that refuse to debate the results Obama has generated. Looks to me like your undisclosed leanings really is liberal.

No, I don't do it alot (you've forgotten our little discussion about Clinton's surplus already?) You do. And you're doing it again.

You are obsessed with ideology, at the expense of anything else. It's pointless. Just debate the issues.

The results are the issue and Obama supporters want to ignore the results which is all they can do since Obama himself cannot run on his results. I listed the questions, you ignored them. Those are the issues.

Doesn't matter what you think Clinton did or didn't do as Clinton isn't on the ballot and Obama is no Clinton.

My latest post was about you, not Obama. You're ignoring that.
