Obama Officially Threatens to Veto "Cut, Cap, Balance"

Not really, it seems the tax cut and spend policies of the other side have lead to the bankruptcy of America. What can be more ingenious than starting a war during a recession and cutting taxes to pay for it. Sorry, the drunken sailors of 2001 to 2009 left quite a bar tab.

Tax those paying most of the taxes already so the White House can spend more. More taxes does NOT equal paying debt. They just spend more. BOTH SIDES do it.

Get Obama out and the "rich" will start spending and creating jobs again. Right now they're scared to spend a dime with that TAX TAKE AND SPEND wacko destroying the economy.

...which was 8 years long. Now, Obama is insisting that in honor of Reagan we should raise the debt ceiling as he did.

okay. 8 years times 12 months = 96 months. Divided by 18 means that he got his debt ceiling increases in 5.3 month increments.

no doubt Obama would be fine with that.


oh wait. He said he would veto that....

two thirds also poll in support of Cut, Cap, and Balance, and more than that poll in favor of a general Balanced Budget Amendment.

It seems that the American people poll in favor of solving our deficit and debt crises, and are willing to take a range of solutions so long as it gets us there.
 
This is all about Reid falling on his sword so Obama doesn't have to veto a bill that raises the debt ceiling.

Just to cut through the veneer, please explain to me exactly how the "rich" create jobs. After you stumble on that one, I will explain to you exactly how jobs are created, and it has very, very little to do with the "rich" and almost everything to do with the middle class (which is who you propose to take money from).

You also apparently believe the myth that the Republicans are interested in cutting the debt. You can't cut the debt until you have eliminated deficits, and you can not do that on expenditure cuts alone... especially since each dollar of expenditure cut will lead to a $.50 to $.75 revenue cut.

If you are not willing to raise taxes, you are not serious of deficit reduction... Virtually every credible economist that has examined this issue has said this requires a mixed approach. Raising taxes on the people that have benefited from the slow economy is the least painful way to work toward a closing of the budget gap.... that group of people is least likely to change their behavior by Washington actions.

They may have taught you how to write at ThinkTown High, but how to think is another matter. You are being played like a violin. Again, don't spill that Kool-aid on your shirt. It tends to stain.

Don't be disingenuous! You're a smart guy, you know why that makes no sense. The debt ceiling was never this politicized until this go around. It has brought Washington to a virtual halt for two months. If the political atmosphere were less acrimonious than no one would object to the two step process. But, you and I and the rest of the world know that a re-do in 6 months would be deja vu all over again. Get this done now!

...and two thirds of Americans support a near term solution that includes tax increases and spending cuts. Curiously, certain tax increases have public support of 65% or greater and NO spending cut has approval of greater than 47% (that would be defense cuts).... with most have approval of less than 40%. From a public opinion perspective, tax increases are clearly the way to go.

Obama is the one who wants to do this if he DOESN'T GET HIS WAY and I hope that he does it so the entire world will know what kind of leader he is (if any), the man doesn't care about anybody else except his reelection next year and making the Reps. look bad. I am a marine serving active duty and you call me a traitor???

You go and tell the same thing to nObama since he is the one who threatens to not pay the social security recipients, us and our dependents etc. etc. but he will sure pay the people who hold U.S. bonds. Now... this is very patriotic of nObama, isn't it???

Anyone that would willingly sacrifice the security of America, in this case, wishing an economic collapse, in furtherance of a personal political agenda, has a treasonous disposition. I don't care what you do for a living. If the shoe fits, its yours...... Being a Marine gives you a presumption of being a patriot, but you opened your mouth to reveal your heart is not and you lost that presumption.

Obama is the one with the scare tactics and I hope that he really puts them in action, you know why??? because if he does.. it will be the end of his political career and that's why I am wishing that he does it, 4 more years of this jerk and he will completely ruin our country. The Tea Part is not group of questionable people, it is composed of democrats, reps, independents and libertarians, pay attention.

Everybody who has made a list has included active duty military on the people they would pay. I think almost every list has included veterans. But to blame Obama because he can't pay everybody if the Republicans intentionally torpedo the country is just silly. They're the ones that are threatening to default, not Obama. This has been an entirely politician created threat to our economy. The Republicans invented it to use as a threat if they didn't get their way... And you blame Obama for that?

This is the way I see it.. if Obama can't run this country because of his ineptness then QUIT! All these people who still defend them are in cloud nine. I believe that Biden can even do a better job than Obama even tough everybody thinks that he is a clown.
 
I would be shocked if he did. That would require stepping up to the plate, taking responsibility, and facing the music. He's more likely to hand the bill to Senator Reid and say, "Here, veto this." I'm aware he can't do that but he isn't.
