The biggest spenders were Chevron and Wal-Mart, which donated $2.9 million and $2.2 million respectively. And the biggest recipients were the Congressional Black Caucus with over $6 million, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus with over $4 million and President Barack Obama with over $1 million.

Nine of the top 10 recipients were Democrats, or in the case of the two ethnic caucus groups, heavily oriented to the Democratic Party. The lone top 10 recipient not associated with Democrats is Gen. David Petraus, recently appointed by President Obama as director of the CIA.

9 of 10 big recipients are Democrats, yet many of our left leaning friends here say they support the Democrats because the GOP is in the pocket of "Big Corporation".

I've heard more people say both parties are in the pockets of big corporations.

There are more than a few ways to hand money off to politicos. For example no one tracks the "walking around" cash handed off to politicians by scum sucking lobbyists. Then there's donations to pet projects and the big one - cushy employment for family members and friends to whom politicians want to curry favor. The biggest of all is fat cat positions, speaking honorariums, board positions and the like politicians receive when they retire from office.

It is silly at best to pretend that one party benefits more than the other from lobbyists. The system sucks because of it. It is in my opinion treasonous.

But the ones screaming the loudest.....are in the deepest pockets........

I agree. All the Democrats that scream about lobbyists and what not and big business either A) need to open up there eyes or B)stop being so narrow minded and ignorant. Both parties are in the pockets of big business. The faster you begin to realize this the quicker you understand that most politicians will put the big business needs and interests before the peoples needs and interests

Its similar to when liberals scream about Corporations.........

......while Immelt sleeps between The Kenyan Tyrant and Moochelle...........

You know Moochelle is what the freepers say, right?

Are you a freeper?

I've not. If by "more" you mean "more" than there once was I would agree but it's still a minority.

Yes, freepers refer to First Lady Michelle Obama as "Moochelle." So, I'm wondering if that's where he got the term.

Tell me, do you think insults about the appearance of the first lady help you argue for your beliefs?

I'm starting to think Obamas the anti president, kind of like Antichrist light. He has done exact opposite of everything he said he would.

Indeed. Some of us were betting that we'd get a 3rd term of Bush, and look what we got? A 3rd term of Bush.
