Bachmann pledges to ban pornography

More big government invading our personal lives and killing our freedom! :D

So she's going to ban Playboy... lol. What about the free market? Is she going to stop married people from making their own porn for themselves... wtf. BIG GOVERNMENT

Reading Think Progress ends in willfull ignorance...........

"support human protection of women and the innocent fruit of conjugal intimacy” and protect them from “seduction into promiscuity and all forms of pornography…and other types of coercion or stolen innocence"

Nowhere does it say, or much less imply, that Bachman is going to ban all pornography........except in the brain dead minds of the "journalists" at Think Democrat.

Only from a religious idiot!
We have more important things to worry about.

There's no way that she will get the nom.

BREAKING: Bachmann pledges to ban pornography | ThinkProgress

Bachmann became the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge created by THE FAMiLY LEADER, an influential social-conservative group in Iowa. By signing the pledge Bachmann “vows” to “uphold the institution of marriage as only between one man and one woman” by committing herself to 14 specifics steps. The ninth step calls for the banning of “all forms” of pornography. The pledge also states that homosexuality is both a choice and a health risk. You can read all the details of the pledge here.

I haven't read the rest of this thread, and I don't really need to.

The reason why is because any President who tries to ban pornography will face the wrath of Anonymous. And, currently, the President has very little ability to deal with Anonymous.

So in a fight against the President, no matter who it may be, and against Anonymous I know who will win.

So if Bachmann gets elected as President and tries to ban pornography, I wish her all the luck in the world dealing with the ****storm that will fly at her because of it.

I wish her that luck because she's gonna need it.

Break out the Burkas.

Yeah Think Democrat just called........

"Michelle Bachmann to require all women to wear burkas"........as soon as she is done banning all pornography.....in Democrat Imaginationland.

Well if you at least read the article, you could see that Think Progress is the 24/7 BS spewing liberal hack media outlet that it is........

Reading the thread would have revealed that nowhere did Bachmann imply or even hint at banning pornography.......Think Democrat took it upon themselves to do that.

Well considering she isnt banning pornography........all the luck in the world wont be necessary.

No, Mr Craig, your event didn't put a cloud over Idaho, it put a black cloud over you.
The Idaho Statesman Newspaper was 100% responsible for starting this ugly rumor about you seeking oral sex with other men in an airport public restroom. Your pleading guilty to the act was simply an oversight on your part.
And OJ is innocent.

I support this measure by Michelle, I think the liberal media didn't report on the whole story.

Shes probably doing this to curb blindness rates

That reminds me I need to shave my palms tonight so our date is off...

But she would also be killing important jobs and doing serious harm to the economy in this critical global recession.

Does a Republican really want to be responsible for that?

Perhaps you should start reading the news. Your tendency to disagree with me purely because I say something suggests you are someone's sock pupeet.

I was neither agreeing with you or disagreeing with you. I asked you to use quotes.

Quotes would perhaps support whatever point it is you're trying to make and without them your observations mean nothing.

You are getting far too paranoid. Relax, use some quotes to support whatever it is you have to say, and everything will work out fine.

I only wish Bachmann was saying all of these insane things 6 months before the election, not 1.5 years.

:(

I know of no way to "protect women and children from pornography" without making it unavailable for public consumption. The only way to ensure that children will not be exposed to pornography is to get it completely off the internet. That calls for massive censorship that is both unconstitutional and immoral.

Seriously folks, read the document, and especially read the footnote to the point this is referring to. it does not call for a ban of porn, nor for further regulations in it's consumption. It is talking about, as the footnote makes clear, kiddy porn, and protecting children from that. It's footnote 17 if any one wants to look.

LOL Not to worry. She's bat **** crazy. She'll say em again or something else equally absurd.

I have read footnote 17. It makes special mention of specific things, like child pornography. This is an expansion of the main point, rather than a narrowing of it. The phrase "all forms of pornography", in the main body, seems pretty clear. And I'm aware that they have since commented, and said that they do not call for a ban on all pornography. However, it is clear to me that the authors of this pledge did have massive censorship in mind when they wrote it. The fact that they were willing to reverse this stance, publicly, in the face of controversy, does not suggest to me that their position that censorship is okay as long is it fits their morals, has changed.

If it is clear to you when you read what's not there, Pachendale, then debate becomes very difficult. The rest of us are stuck with understanding what is actually there.
