Harvard: July 4th Parades Are Right-Wing

After 911, Dems had serious problems with their decades long hostility to the military and intel services. The Senate Dems asked for and got a second vote to send troops to battle. Then they backtracked and back stabbed our troops when they needed their assistance most. You do recall Bush 43 in office and the disgusting display of Democrats? Or is that part of your mind blank, now that we have 4 wars going?

What exactly do you mean by "stab them in the back?" Last I checked, what the left wanted to do with the troops was bring them home.

As evidenced by the daily anti-war parades across Americas college campuses, street corners...why...they are EVERYWHERE.

The left wants the opposite of what any republican president stands for and stands by anything a democrat president wants...even if they are the exact same thing.

Looks like you two bear out the study perfectly. ;) People tend to put their time and evergy in to the things that matter to them. That includes packing up the family and going to a parade, or to a sports stadium or whatever. If this thread goes long enough, invariably, someone, probably liberal, will claim that going to a parade is nothing but an empty gesture and is actually unpatriotic.

I actually wish liberals in general would figure out if they think patriotism is even a good thing. I've seen some suggest it's just an offshoot of evil nationalism which is just a hairs breadth away from racism. Seems like some liberals argue favorably for patriotism only when they're accused of being less patriotic than conservatives.

Evidence: Guantanamo, Libya, Afghanistan, Wall Street, assassinating Osama Bin Laden (after campaigning to give terrorists a trial), just to name a few.

I think arguing over whether Liberals or Right-Wingers are more or less in thrall to the quasi-religion of the state is sort of missing the point.
 
If I'm a hair less patriotic then some of the cons on this board, so be it. I still love a parade, hot dogs, beer, bands, and fireworks. I took part in as much celebration of our nation's birthday as I could. It was a blast. I'm looking forward to next year already. I would be foolish to miss out on that much fun!
 
Is this the only thing Harvard really has to study is the idea of independence day. Losing themselves in a selfish study to prove that thousands of Americans died to fight for our freedom almost 300 years ago. It must be nice that these people gave their lives so that Harvard and its students could so merciously state that there was no reason for America to have a day of independence from unrepresented taxation. No matter what kind of study it is, or what it proves, why is it being done in the first place?? We should be questioning why students pay 50000 dollars plus to attend a school that worries more about who is represented and what is created by independence day insted of figuring out a way around our current issues. Pull your head out of your rectal cavity Harvard there are more important things than a correlation between independence day and republicans and liberals. Lets say 14 Trillion in debt, or maybe the fact that America creates the ideas that China produces for us and makes our money, maybe even that social security will soon reach a 2:1 ration and states that two average americans will pay for 1 retiree to actually retire. Where is our money harvard, let us celebrate our independece day and be free instead of worrying about whether or not its more republican or democratic based. Rejoice and be free, thats what what we and they fought for, for so long......

Wake up America!
