Herman Cain mistake on the Constitution.

Before it was, "...and happiness", it was, "...and property". Jefferson changed it in the second draft.

I want to be outraged, but when I listened to that part of the debate (on NPR the next day, or Minnesota Public Radio if not nationally) I didn't find it that offensive. What was funny was Newt trying to outflank Cain on the right. He just jumped in and was like "Well I demand it more than you!"

What they both said is that they want to know that anyone in their cabinet is loyal to America first. I can't have a problem with that. However, the fact that this is seen to be an issue with only Muslims makes me think of people who were worried because Kennedy was Catholic.

He's not uneducated, he's a conservative, so there is nothing he could say, or do that would impress you.

Before saying that we don't need to re write the Constitution. But we need to re-read the Constitution. The irony here is that Life,liberty and the pursuit of happiness is from the Declaration of Independence. Maybe he should READ the Constitution.

Also Cain went on the Glen Beck show and said he would be reluctant to appoint a Muslim to a position of power. Once again Cain shows his lack of knowledge on the Constitution. Because in Article IV, Clause 3 it says "no religion test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

I really wish some Republicans would actually read the darn thing before they try to act all patriotic.

IMO its a minor issue and a minor mistake not really anything to be concerned about. People misspeak all the time and I definitely consider this minor compared to other things candidates have done.

That being said, Cain is no one to worry about because he is a shock jock and part of the problem with politics today. Fortunately he'll never be president.

Yes a shock jock. Not unlike Rush, Hannity, Quinn & Rose, Beck, Savage etc Who all I listen too.
Ive listen to him on the radio and when he filled in for rush, he is mainly a partisan pundit with nothing more than talking points bias hyperbole.

Maybe more blacks should run under the Republican ticket. Since you got that talking point down pat, maybe you can tell us how many black have actually run on the Republican ticket.

You might wanna be careful, since the Republicans have swapped sides of the political fence since Reconstruction.

And as I mentined earlier, the first black elected President, the Democrat Obama, is the worst friggin President ever. Jimmy Carter is so thankful, btw. You can post about Democrats and blacks all you want, but all the Democrats seem able to serve up are crooks and incompetents.

Obama's lowest JAR is 41%. Bush? 19%. I'd say that makes Bush far worse than Obama.

Well here, on planet Earth, Jesse Jackson actually ran for president whereas Colin Powell did not. Who knows what distant galaxy you hail from where that makes Powell more viable than Jackson. :roll:
