Because nothing says "classy" like protesting a bunch of special needs children, and trying to take away their day.

 way to go, unions! way to stick it to the man!!!

They were not protesting the "special needs children" they were protesting Governor Walker.......

You mean special people have rights above our own?

Its obvious.......Democrats and Union Slobs hate the handicapped.......

it doesn't matter WHO they were protesting, they should have let the special olympics have their day. want to protest walker? hang around outside the governors mansion or show up whenever he gives a political speech or goes campaigning for reelection. there is no need to force special needs people to suffer more so that you can vent and blow your suck.

I don't like Obama's policies, but you won't find me invading his church on Easter, or his daughters graduation ceremonies. because that (just like this) would be classless, crude, and indicative of narcissism.

but i'll admit, i do find it interesting how, when given the choice between defending those with special needs or defending public unions, ya'll instantly and without hesitation leapt to the defense of public unions. I'm surprised - I expected the response to be blustering about how they don't speak for all unions, and all unions can't be held to account for the boorish actions of a few etc..... but no. apparently ya'll really are without shame. :(

The special olympics are like a church now? While in public?

At the SPECIAL FRIGGIN OLYMPICS

Soooo. Really were not disturbing anyone. Whats your whole point. First off in your post totally twisted the even you said they were "protesting a bunch of special needs children, and trying to take away their day" they were actually protesting the Governor, and yes it was at a Special Olympics thingy, big woopdy dooo.... Nothing like dressing up like zombies and standing in the front, how disrespectful..... Lame.

the special olympics deserve not to be invaded by a bunch of boors, because they are their own occasion to mark the courage and work that those who begin with handicaps demonstrate to achieve remarkable feats.

yes, it is like protesting during church. it would be like if anti-war protestors had showed up to disrupt and yell at bush during medal-pinning ceremonies. it's taking something that's not about you or what you are yelling about and insisting that it become about you. It spits in the face of the competitors because it tells them that their achievements and struggles aren't worth even having a single day in the sun, the union protestors must have everything.

hah owned....CPwill only sees what he wants to see....

Once again they were protesting walker... are you confused?

1. they were there to protest walker.

2. them showing up THERE to protest walker meant they were protesting at the special olympics

3. you don't ****ing protest at the special olympics - it is wrong, it is crude, it is narcissistic, those people deserve better than to have their day of achievement hijacked by the vitriol-spewing partisans of either side. this is a lower order of magnitude - but the same kind - of protest that the westboro baptist folks engage in; taking something that is very explicitely about honoring others and trying to make it about you and your anger instead.

i'll admit, I'm surprised. i really didn't expect everyone to immediately be willing to screw over those with special needs to defend public unions. i guess it's true what they say about who owns who.

It's okay, when protesters are protesting the approved cause...

1. they were there to protest walker.
Bingo. Thats really all there is to it.

2. them showing up THERE to protest walker meant they were protesting at the special olympics
Yea they were protesting at a special olympic event, sooooooooo whatt?

3. you don't ****ing protest at the special olympics - it is wrong, it is crude, it is narcissistic,
How is it wrong? What would make it wrong if they were being hectic, violent, yelling, throwing "offensive slurs" around. No they didnt do that. They dressed up like zombies and stood there. How is that wrong? Crude? Offensive? Narcissistic?

those people deserve better than to have their day of achievement hijacked by the vitriol-spewing partisans of either side.
I really dont think it was hijacked at all... Still got their events and what not. Now it would be "hijacked" if it got shut down because of this protest. Saying that the "Maciever News Service" is just about the only coverage of this even i really dont think it was "hijacked".

this is a lower order of magnitude - but the same kind - of protest that the westboro baptist folks engage in;
Naa not at all...Terrible, absolutely pitiful comparison.
Westsboro: "God hates Retards"
Union Protest: "Down with Walker we want our rights back"
:doh

Standing there=making it all about yourself?

Wait how did they "screw them over"? Really not seeing any screwing.

those with special needs to defend public unions. i guess it's true what they say about who owns who.
Lame

awesome. so when people show up to disrupt the Obama's childrens' school graduation to scream about how her father is a socialist, you're going to be A-Ok with that.

that is not all there is too it.

I'll admit, I don't really know how to respond to the reaction here. It's like I posted Nancy Pelosi beating a three year old and the response was the three year old shouldn't have gotten in her way.

Sure they have every right to do that, they have the right to protest, and if they want to do that go right ahead.

How what happened? Far as i can tell and the report reports is that some anti walker protesters showed up dressed like Zombies stood in the front all quiet like and left... Is there more?

Terrible comparison.

I have to say, I was upset after watching the video. I personally would never protest someone at the Special Olympics over an issue unrelated to the SO. These kids have a day set aside for them and all anyone will focus on are some chumps dressed as zombies blocking their view. What a shame.

having the "Right" does not make it "right". Westboro Baptist has the "Right" to do as they do.

the Special Olympics deserves not to be crashed by a bunch of pissed off union protestors.
