Wisconsin Unions Disrupt Special Olympics Ceremony

You must have skipped the 3rd paragraph...

Nope. Can you tell me what union is associated with a student organization known as The United Council of UW Students?

Press Releases - United Council of UW Students
To clarify events from today: United Council’s Day of Action around Higher Education Funding and how the Voter ID bill affects students consisted of a die-in and march around the Capitol. Any actions happening later in the day are outside the scope of UC’s day of action and was not endorsed or supported by the organization. If anyone has questions, feel free to give the office a call.
Essentially a lie, as they provided the zombie shirts and makeup the protestors used.

So, it's OK to **** with a ceremony to honor Special Olympians... as long as you don't **** with the Special Olympics themselves???

Didn't say that. A lot of people, and I quoted some of them, said they interrupted the Special Olympics.

Certainly... The United Council of UW Students. That is the name of a student union.

A student organization, not a union. You're really grasping.

When I went to college, we had a student union building where we could go to hang out, get a soft drink, relax, grab a burger. Do you really think that was a union headquarters?

lol....keep digging...this wasnt organized labor...believe what you will, or what fits your ideology....lol...anything to drag unions through the mud, even being blatantly dishonest.

Please show me where 'I' claimed organized labor was involved...

Sounds like a union to me...

Typical BS 1st I did not see Union Prostestors, 2nd if there were union protestors do you really think that no republicans belong to unions?

And I agreed that was 'technically' incorrect. So you agree then that interrupting the ceremony was wrong?

didn't the special olympics officials acknowledge that there was no disruption

Wait. The United Council of UW Students puts out a press release saying that they didn't endorse or support the action and you call it a lie, but you believe a Fox news report that said the council paid for the shirts and makeup without any verification or quote from someone that could verify it?

yep, typical from lamemutha...

State Treasurer Kurt Schuller, a GOP official whose daughter was a Special Olympics competitor, denounced the demonstration in a statement.

"To be confronted by protesters, who will never understand the personal challenges that these Special Olympians face, who decided to politicize a nonpolitical event, shows a complete lack of civility when civility is something we should all be working toward," he said.

Yes, that part is WAY more important than this one...

Of course it is, I'm sure there were people protesting that are related to and/or take care of special needs people, too. The complaint he made is entirely because of his politics.

Second, why does it matter what he said? Does it give your stupid position some more authority or something?

Complete supposition on your part... unless you have some proof you'd like to share with the rest of the class???

another lying republican ... but then i repeat myself:
Rachel Grant, a spokeswoman for the Special Olympics, said officials were nervous when the zombie protesters first arrived, but they turned out to be peaceful.

"We were all a little bit on edge, but it turned out for the best," Grant said. "Nothing was disruptive at all."

Kelly Kloepping, another Special Olympics official, said the protesters were respectful and did not diminish the excitement the Special Olympians felt about being in Madison to meet Walker and other leaders.

"We feel it's really about the athletes," Kloepping said. "We knew the protesters were there, but they were respectful of our athletes."
