Casey Anthony Trial's Surprise

But if it was an accident and Casey won't give the whole story, then why would she be willing to go to jail/prison for that reason? Her mother loves Caylee, but would her mother prefer to lose Casey too because she handle thinking Caylee died on Casey's watch? My preferred choice wouldn't be my daughter making herself potentially look like a murderer and possibly going to prison for life.

George knew the Toyota was out of gas, sitting at the impound lot. George had access to the Toyota all that time for Jun 15 to July 15 09. Maybe neither Casey or Cindy knew where George put Caylee's body. Maybe Casey is refusing to talk to protect her father for hiding the body, and protect her mother for having left the ladder out. Maybe Caylee drowned accidentally be climbing in the swimming pool unsupervised.

I wouldn't go to jail for somebody else in my family, especially not if they molested me as a kid and murdered my daughter... This is just bizarre.

No sane person would go to jail , protect the abuser(s), etc. BUT--- some kinds of abuse, if left untreated, can make you crazy enough to do that. FACT. Happens all the time. Women get murdered in DV situations while protecting their abuser. I just don't believe the defense story that she killed her kid so she could party. Does not make one bit of sense. If you listen to the family, they all LOVED the baby-- all she had to do was dump the baby and party on. I don't buy it. I think this whole family is messed up, and Casey is the one going down for all of it. There is NO evidence that Casey was a bad mother. NONE. Something terrible happened, and they know what it is.

The thing is... if she didn't do anything wrong and the death was an accident or the little girl hurt herself and Casey is innocent, then there is no reason why she should be lying or having trouble getting the pieces to fit together.

Once you start lying, and in this case, you can't go back to the truth.

For the parents to have let things go for a month, they knew something was up, or are very naive.

Especially considering all of the testimony and depositional information which confirmed Casey was a loving, fiercely loyal (to Cindy, not George) daughter and an active, doting mother to Caylee. The Casey described by friends and family prior to the week leading up to Caylee's disappearance is completely different than the Casey described during that 31 days in late June and early July. If Casey killed Caylee my bet is on either Bipolar Disorder (which typically presents around that age) or perhaps Schizophrenia triggering a period of atypical behavior.

And has anybody really evaluated her mental state? She doesn't seem normal by any standards... and those type of theories deserve to be make available to the jury.

She's was determined to be stable enough to stand trial, but that doesn't mean much. If she is convicted of Murder1 they'll have her evaluated in-depth.

It's important to try to piece it all together... Hopefully the jury does the right thing. IDK what the right thing is though... thank god I am not on the jury

Not guilty of murder, nor guilty of manslaughter, not guilty of child abuse.. guilty on all counts of lying.. I knew it...
We will never know what happened to that little baby girl.

I really hope she goes away now, and the media and entertainment outlets don't continue to publicize her or her sporadic behavior. I really don't want to see her act like the next Nadia Sulemen and trying to milk it all for fame she can...

That's exactly what she's going to do... she's got a former check cashing fraud charge looming on her. She now has her dead kid to publicize; she's got at least a book or two, who knows how many paid television interviews, maybe even an exclusive, then we get the magazines, the playboy offer, then her stint on reality tv, dancing with the stars (media whores - whatever). This is PAY DAY baby.

She's not going home to mom and dad, she's got no money, no job anymore, how's she going to support herself and who's going to give her a job?

I hope she doesn't end up pregnant soon....

I've had a bad feeling about this from early on. I think Casey is a victim, her abuser helped make this happen.. I think the baby drowned and he hid her body.. JMO. I will lose ANY understanding I felt I had if she tries to cash in on her baby's death. She needs to get a job and disappear off the radar. Hopefully she will stay away from her family. Toxic sheet going on there..the whole family disgusts me, and I hope we don't have to hear about them any more. They played the odds, and won. Makes me sick. I don't think anyone murdered the child-- does not make sense. Accident, lying family covered it up.. God, no more Anthony family, please...

Maybe she can work with the guy that got thrown in jail for flipping the prosecutor off..

Seems to me the jury might also have felt the judge was stifling the defense. If I were on the jury that alone would be enough for me to decide the case had not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The defense was not defeated, it wasn't even allowed to be presented. I've sat on juries like that before, where one side was suppressed. It is disgusting and frustrating. You want to be fair, you want to consider the merits of the case, you want to have clear instructions on the law from the judge. I'm glad this jury decided as they did based on what was actually presented to them, and they decided it simply wasn't enough.

I think the judge was a showboat.

I wonder why the parents looked at each other, looked at their lawyer and walked out of the court room upon hearing not guilty? Such a strange family.

Defense Claims Caylee Died of Accidental Drowning

This makes me sick. I believe her defense attornies said to her: "We don't want you to tell us what happened if you don't want to Casey. But you've got to have an explanation for what happened here if we're to mount a defense. Now! What could have happened??" Or maybe they concocted it for her and asked her with a meaningful look, "Is that what happened Casey??"

Fox just said that the father was in on it and helped her with the cover-up...that her body was found by that meter man weeks before he turned it in and he was holding on to it hoping for a reward.

The animals at the zoo are on parade. It makes me positively sick.

Casey Anthony Trial Opens with Shocking Claims : People.com

Congratulations to the Orange County police dept. for finally getting to the body of little Calee 4 months later after being reported.

The police dept. is at fault all the way. The police dept. there is a joke.

How did you expect them to find the body? You can only work off of what you are given and some investigating of your own. You know that every county in the country has a few cold cases? You can't solve them all. There were TONS of people that went looking for her when she was reported missing. Orange county is a relatively big county. You can't search the whole place. How do you know the police department here is a joke? Have you visited here? Have you dealt with any policeman or employee of the department? How can you make that call? I am surprised they found her at all.

The meter reader found the body and HAD to report it not ONCE but THREE times, the dept. sent an investigator 3 months later but didn't go all the way in where the body was and was FIRED for it. Finally they got on top of it and by then the body was decomposed and because of the long period of time that had gone by there were not able to get fingerprints on the tape that covered her mouth. I am very surprised that a Floridan like you was not aware of the situation and the whole case. The police Dept. there ain't worth a crap.
