Robots are developing their own language to help them navigate and improve their intellectual ability.

The lexicon has proved so sophisticated that it can be used to help robots find places other robots direct them to.

The machines are being allowed to generate their own words because human language is so loaded with information that robots found it hard to understand, said project leader Dr Ruth Schulz from the University of Queensland.

I believe that this language was created by Al Gore, the original wooden robot.

Humans have shown that anything they can imagine can be done. It is only a state of mind. I wonder if anyone has made a documentary on Buck Rodgers Space Command and the Space Shuttle?

If our robots ever learn evil, it will be through our own making. Hopefully they won't be watching to much tv with the kids.

If you disregard his multiple personalities issue sure.

He died pretty much around the time i got him so i never knew his character that well. I didn't know he had multiple personalities.

Technically he had multiple minds.

So comforting knowing there are so many people here who would follow commander shepard to the gates of hell. :D

God damned it. We're not going to be happy until we've developed robots which will turn on their human masters thus creating a war for our very survival.

"We are legion".

Just because they can do something doesn't mean they should.

I bet those robots are making fun of your irrational fear of technology right now.

Right you are. Despite what we see in the Terminator movies, robots will never be able to do anything without a program that gives them instructions. Even AI is nothing more than a program. Programs are written by humans. So maybe robots should worship humans as Gods, but they could only do that if a program was written for them to do so, and they would never comprehend the meaning either. Whether bowing before us in apparent prayer, or playing a game of chess, it's all in an algorithm developed by a human, not in any kind of a sentient consciousness.

If you are referring to the robots we are capable of creating, today, that's absolutely true. However, there is no reason why we wouldn't be able to create Strong AI, in the future. Biological evolution already made thinking machines, therefore, it can be done, it's just a question of how long it will take to reverse-engineer the brain.
