AP Exclusive: Former Palin aide pens tell-all

I think it's hilarious and fun to watch the right wing extremists scramble to defend her and I couldn't care less if she finished her term.

Who is DEFENDING her? Certainly not me. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy that is the central principle of liberals and the Democratic Party; right after bastardizing the General Welfare Clause, of course. Almost every liberal has a PhD in hypocrisy, even taking the hypocritic oath before joining the party. Liberals like you are a dime a dozen on these threads, all giddy and giggly like a little school girl. I'm bet you're typing one-handed right now.

Can I ask where you got your PhD in irony?

I wonder why does everything have to be so conspiritorial? Why can't a person just be speaking the truth for a change? Why does everything have to be for personal glory or financial gain?

Is it possible that the author of this tell-all book could actually be telling the truth? Think about it for a moment...?

If Sarah Palin is so innocent of wrong doing, why were folks bringing about lawsuit against her in the first place?

If she didn't violate any ethics rules/laws, why didn't she remain Alaska's governor and fight the charges? No state-sponsored legal fund you say? Well, she had access to two of them set up by people who came to her defense. What happened to the money? And does anyone know what the outcome was of the charges that were brought against her? Clearly, she wasn't convicted...why? Was she found innocent or did she leave office as part of some deal to have the charges dropped?

I'm not trying to belittle her; I'm just asking questions because it does appear that she caused alot of problems while governor and then ran when the **** hit the fan. To that, I think it only fair to ask if the author is telling the truth and as such do people not want to believe that this woman has done wrong in her brief political career? Or could it be that Sarah Palin is just a victim of someone seeking to make his fortune off her by spinning the issues?

As BDBoop points out, if Palin does run for the presidency the truth will come out one way or another. And either the accusations brought against her long before this book was published will be proven to be true or she'll be vindicated. I say let the chips fall where they may.

Regarding the firing of the state trooper, the investigator contracted by the legislature reported in October 2008 one finding of an abuse of power, along with three other findings of no wrongdoing.

Alaska Politics Blog : The Branchflower report | adn.com

The Alaska Personnel Board exonerated her a few weeks later.

As far as the legal harrassment that followed after the election, there are links galore, but I'm still looking for legit journalistic overview. If anyone has one let me know. I'd like to read one.

I found an old Newsmax piece (they do a lot of rah-rah stuff) that says there were 14 or 15 ethics complaints filed before she resigned, for things like conducting a television interview in her office, going to a pro-life breakfast in Indiana, and for wearing a jacket provided by Mr. Palin's snow-boarding sponsor to a public function. I can't find anything that stuck.

Gov. Sarah Palin Quietly Cleared of All Ethics Charges

So yeah. She's pretty hardcore.

I think one should look at the motivations and the source to judge whether the book would benefit the reader, or the author more.

With all due respect reverend, you don't have to look at motivations. All you have to do is watch Palin, and everything about her incredible stupidity falls into place. Her being an idiot is no Liberal conspiracy. Just watch her:

You and I have gone head to head here many times, and you know what? I have always respected your opinion, because it is honest, even if I don't agree with it sometimes. That is why I can't believe that you support her so vehemently. Just look at her. Don't look at the Liberal portrayal of her. Look at HER. She is so moronic that she makes Dan Quayle look like a Rhodes Scholar. She is a Liberal's wet dream, and they want her to win the Republican nomination so badly that they can taste it.

Come on, Rev, you are a very intelligent guy, and I can see that you are an independent thinker most of the time. You can't believe she is qualified to be president. You just can't. You are way better than that.

You ain't seen nuthin yet. Come to Michigan and watch the party of Reagan tell the entire state "
I'm from the government and I' here to help"
with one law after the next telling local units of government how to run their own affairs. Come to Michigan and see the party of Lincoln bury and urinate upon the principle of "government of the people, by the people and for the people" with their Emergency Manager take over legislation which throws out elected officials in favor of dictatorships without any checks and balances.

That is hypocrisy that has both former Republican Presidents spinning at light speed in their graves.

Of course, this is certainly all right in your book since it comes from your own party and you are a True Believer.

Right. The Left and their leader are incredibly smart while Sarah Palin is incredibly stupid. Would that make the people in Alaska who voted for her, and gave her much higher approval ratings than Barrack Obama has, incredibly stupid as well?

Here's stupid in action, and a reflection on everyone who voted for him.

The Left doesn't have a leader. Niether does the right, however they tend to be more disciplined, and hierarchial.

At one point, Palin's approval ratings among her native Alaskans was at it's peak of 86%. Right now, her approval rating in Alaska is around 39%, which is below her national approval rating.

This is just nonsense. You're making two assertions here, both of which are completely wrong. First, that Barack Obama is a bad public speaker. By every metric you could establish, either comparing him to the majority of the American people, in which case, he'd probably be in the 99th percentile, or, even among US politicians, where he would still rank on the high end, far ahead of his predecessor, who was renowned for his misstatements.

Second, that Barack Obama is 'stupid.' First, Barack Obama has a BA from Columbia, and a Doctorate in Law from Harvard. Second, read his books, or just listen to the guy talk for ten minutes. You can legitimately criticize Barack Obama on a number of fronts, I'm hardly his biggest fan, but you don't just get to make **** up about people because you dislike them. I don't think Sarah Palin is extremely intelligent, because she has presented zero evidence of being exceptionally intelligent. In fact, while she isn't drooling into the carpet, she has repeatedly, and consistently given the impression of someone who is, very clearly, at the low end of the spectrum, among the political class.

The left has a leader and his name is Barack Obama.

I saw this dude on the View today and am so glad he wrote this book. I bet Palin wishes to claw his eyes out and kill him:)

I think this guy wasted his time writing this book. Who wants to buy a book that merely articulates the obvious?

He had his reasons, but the bulk seems to be that he felt like a fool. He felt tricked. Of course, I'm just guessing that he fears she'll run for President, and he knows that would be a very, very bad thing.

Or he's just selling his book to make more money...

Oh gnoes, you cannot question his motives, he's a good honest guy telling da troof!

Couldn't he be both -- making money and telling the truth?

Yea, Grant. My attack on Palin is a leftist conspiracy, right? Never mind that I started a thread today that called Obama a criminal. I guess that is leftist too, right? LOL.

Seriously, no matter how big of a putz Obama is, that does not subtract one iota from the fact that Palin is the biggest moron to come down the pike in a generation. No matter how much you attack Obama in a thread about Palin, that is not going to change how much of an idiot she is. OK, so I agree with you on Obama. He is an asshole. And Palin is a moron.

Danny, she is a fool, and a media hog, i have said that on numerous occassions, i got all i need to know about her when she quit the govenership. I don't support her. That said when a low paid staffer collects 60k emails and writes a book, I think i am going to take it the same way I would a MM post, with a grain of salt and not worth reading....

that said, dumb? lets see she made it to govener of a state, took the media onslaught and turned it into bank..... made it close to being #2 in the US? perhaps not well spoken, but dumb? If only we all were that dumb....

People are always writing tell-all books. Welcome to the wonderful world of political backstabbing. It has happened many times before and it will continue to happen. This time, the target happens to be Sarah Palin. People are opportunistic and self-serving. So what?

Next time you defend say Obama I'm gonna quote you here.

In fairness, he's the President of the United States and she's the failed Governor of a welfare state who quit her job to become a reality TV star.

#1 Do you understand the expression 'with a grain of salt'?

#2 Why would inside information on Palin be 'not worth reading'?

Troopergate, oh yeah, another made up scandal that only got legs cause she was the VP Candidate.

Why was it a "made up" scandal?

You are aware she was found guilty of ethics violations?

It's fascinating how Fox News is able to reprogram their viewers.

You said "a grain of salt and not worth reading" -- in your mind are they the same? Do you understand the expression?

How do you 'take it with a grain of salt' and not read it?

So, when the book comes out, you will "take it with a grain of salt" and NOT READ IT?

I'd like to see how that works.

BTW - the book was written by her ilk.

apparently YOU aren't aware that she was found not guilty. You are talking about the branchflower report but that wasn't the final verdict and, in fact, was found not guilty about the Alaskan personnel board.
