Tenn. Senate OKs ban on teaching of homosexuality

Ludahai years ago when I was in school...there were no computers, copiers or even hand held calculators. I got thrown out of school at 15 and I could read and write very well and I had extremely good penmanship. I never handed in one piece of paper for homework. My point is that we were taught what was necessary.
My daughter now has to graduate...TWENTY YEAR OLDS that cant write a paragraph that makes sense and doesnt have 50 spelling errors...so someone needs to explain why our kids are being indoctrinated instead of educated.

I understand that but its not a necessary topic...especially when you consider that were graduating morons that cant write paragraphs

Its not indoctrination thats the problem, its the fact that teaching is still done like it was in the 1800s. Its boring, repetitive (didn't learn anything new in high school until outside of physics and biology) until senior year, etc.

I took Algebra in middle school, and I had to take again in high school because of the dumb kids that couldn't learn it in middle school for instance.

Maybe they could write a paper on the topic of Gay rights in the USA in a social studies class?

I had to write papers in my history classes on various topics.

I mean actually write a paper. You know like 5, 10 pages, foot notes, bibliography all that stuff.

Whenever they are putting out information in school that is not necessary to educate them in academic subjects its indoctrination

Any thing they are telling kids that isnt directly academic. Thats the problem with public education in America...theres not enough time left to do all the social engineering that progressives want and teach the kids what they need to know.
What is the purpose of going into homosexuality in grammar school...to indoctrinate kids that its ok.

I don't know what schools you are talking about. Every school I have ever had contact with, either directly or indirectly, has had plenty of time to teach the basics a person should know before getting to college. Despite DARE programs, don't touch guns, good touch bad touch, etc

lol okay. I was merely making the point that as a child I was aware that something was up with the human body - it wasn't until about the fifth grade before I learned anything about sex, and yes it was in public school and I'm glad our school decided to make it part of the curriculum, because I would have remained clueless otherwise. Before I knew what sex was, i thought children were conceived spontaneously through kissing.

Why would having two mommies or two daddies be a subject to discuss in school?

My son has two mommies and two daddies in that I am his father and he has his mother then he has my friend and his wife whom he calls mommy and daddy too. It has never been a topic of conversation in school.

Still thats whats so very wrong with the thinking today...no sex ed class's when I was in school and I grew up with a healthy sexual appetite and 6 kids later and 7 grandkids and 3 great grandkids later....I did ok on my own

Wow buddy you need to get in tune...the USA is way behind other industrialized nations in education and theres many schools graduating morons...

I'm sorry lpast I don't get how educating children about sex is wrong. I certainly appreciate my educators trying to teach me about sex and trying to dispel any myths we had.

If that kid would just wait until High School, he could talk about it all he wants. I do understand the cut off. Most 11 12 and 13 year olds are too immature to handle the conversation to do them any good.

I didnt say it was wrong...I said I think its unnecessary in the big scheme of things...yanno even the cavemen and women did piggynasty and had babies...think they had chalkboard sessions on how to do it
