Huckabee Opts Against 2012 White House Bid

We have to face reality which the Liberals have been unable to do since Obama cm on the scene he has them under some sort of spell, I don't understand it at all.

Obama has been a total failure, he seems to be an uneducated idiot, to me. He is the second person in the job that comes to it with less credentials than I have for the job an that is just sad for the Nation.

Obama has never been an executive Manager of anything, he has been one who uses threats and intimidation to force others to get his way and he lies to accomplish it.

Herman Cain has the experience and education in business that can be translated into the office that can make him the kind of person we need in the office of President we need to do what is required to get us back on track.

He also takes the claim that conservatives are racists and shoves it in the Liberals faces, and I love that.

Fight fire with fire.

Last election the complaint was that Obama didn't have enough government experience. Palin was touted as having more government experience and more desirable.
Guess what now.....lol.

You guys must have goal posts on wheels......

As for the business experience then one would think Trump would be all you were talking about. I don't recall and Cain Towers.

The news reporter is bowing out, lol.

I think y'all should try and elect Joe the plumber, I hear the White House is in need of repairs.

I must say, I'm happy about it. Gives my guy Cain a better chance.(I think) Although, curious who Huckabee supporters will migrate to.

Probably Santorum....

The thing is from the polls I have seen Mike Huckabee, and Mitch Romany are the top two people that would stand a chance at the white house. If the Republicans want the White house this means don't put people that have baggage like Donald trump, or Sarah Plain in the running. Thought, I agree with Cpwill in that I like the man's reason for not ruining. You'd have too be nuts to run under the Political stupidity we have today.

a little nuts, or definitely willing to weather the fire. Romney and Huckabee, I think, benefit mostly from name-recognition; an advantage that is sure to fade with time and attention on the race.

Off topic: for Cpwill
I'm also glad to see you are doing well.

:D and you as well - thank you kindly.

If Palin gets in, Huckabee supporters will go to her. It is her natural constituency.

Palin is between a rock and a hard place at this point in time. She is just about six months from becoming completely and totally irrelevant on any level. She must do something and do something big to keep the gravy train rolling and extend her 15 minutes of fame. The easy way to do that is to run for president. But then she has to also have an eye on the polls which say that 2/3 of the public pretty much loathes her and would not vote for her.

Huckabee smartly realized he could not raise them money or win the election. He would have been made to look like an INHERIT THE WIND caricature in the general election and he knew it.

He pulled off the same collective-bargaining-rights coup that Walker spent a month suffering for in a single day.

Wrong. The one in IN isn't as bad as the one in WI, since WI took away rights. IN's is only a right to work bill, which even liberals can agree with assuming the language was changed that forced unions to represent non-union members in a dispute.

Palins' role at this point is to endorse the leading NotRomney on his way to victory in the Republican primary, and then to rally the base during the general as a cheerleader - she will also perform well in her self-assigned (and successful) job as an attention-gainer and kingmaker for several down-ticket Republican insurgents in Democratic incumbencies. I sincerely doubt she will run, but if she does, then yes, she will probably pick up much of the Huckabee crowd; though not nearly all of them.

The fact that she has became a king maker in the republican party shows how sad the republican party as a whole is.

Wisconsin took away collective bargaining in some areas. So did Indiana.

NPR: In 2005 on his first day in office, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels signed an order ending collective bargaining with public employee unions. He said it freed him to turn over some state jobs to private contractors.

let's just say that I don't see that move playing particularly badly among conservatives, which was what the original claim I was responding to was about.

He backed down from the right to work law. Thats what would have played badly.

Thought, Sarah Plain also has great recognition in the political scene however her support plunged when she got that recognition. So I think being electable does have some more things attached to them like for example don't do stupid **** on air lol.

I know this is a Nytime article on the subject but I'd also post a Us nations polling area.

2012 Presidential Election Polls Polls -

RealClearPolitics - Election 2012 - 2012 Republican Presidential Nomination

From the real clear politics site, its looks like most of the contenders for the republicans might not be enough to jump start the base enough to win this time around. I mean cough from the looks of thing Obama will win his second term thought this is if the Gop can get a good contender to win both the moderates and Independents.

:D and you as well - thank you kindly.

Your welcome! Cpwill

Palin cannot be a cheerleader if the cute short outfit no longer flatters her and the stands are virtually empty. And that is what has been happening to her more and more with each passing week. She went big for the money and dived in head first like Scrooge McDuck in his money bin. But her 15 minutes is fading and fading fast unless she makes herself relevant again in a big way. The only way for her to do that is run for president.

He backed down from the right to work law. Thats what would have played badly.

he did that in order to get his education-voucher reform passed. I'm thinking he still comes out on top.

:) gosh, if only there were a highly successful conservative Republican Governor with a demonstrated ability to win moderates and independents, even when running into Obama headwinds who was interested in running...... :D

I think it was little more than that. The right to work bill included language that could have been used to force unions to represent non-union members in an effort to drain the union's coffers. Thats BS

Yep, a role for Sarah Palin befitting her narcissistic personality AND her knowledge of world affairs: cheerleader.... "Give me a "R", give me an "O".... Who do we like?....... push 'em back, push 'em back" Yes, she is the perfect cheerleader!

Putting Mitch Daniels and the Right-to-Work Fracas in Context

Daniels forestalled a fight in Indiana over right-to-work because he had already passed the same reduction as Wisconsin did (Wisconsin did not, as far as i am aware, become a right-to-work state), and he needed Democrats in their seats to get his education voucher system pushed through. Again, I think the base will accept reforming education with vouchers as an acceptable alternative to a long, iffy battle over right-to-work, given Daniels history in that regards.

The Republican party has no kings nor princes. They must settle for the court jesters.

Mike Huckabee will not run for president, and as a former candidate for public office I fully understand what he is doing. He feels he has a better chance to make a difference doing what he is dong.

I applaud his decision and the reasons .
He knows damn well he couldn't beat Obama, so he is sitting this election out and maybe he will run in 2016.

I never said he didn't come out more ahead, I'm simply saying that there may be more to it then just that. As I said, the law had that language in it which anyone with a brain should see as BS.

Wow just wow! Go unelectable candidates election 2012. So having a candidate that has no idea how to work with politicians is a good thing? Yay for not being able to get your ideas trough. Also having someone who is a founder of a pizza chain is nothing but saying hey I'm going to screw the middle class, but I'm still for smaller government so vote for me the rich guy who founded a pizza chain. At least Mitch Romany, and Mike Huckabee are freaking electable

Who's Mitch Romany?
Also read post #18 and also go to link. Cain has lots of experience working with politicians. He's just never been corrupted by them or held elected office.
here's more on Cain. Click link to find out the details. Very interesting bio.

Here's an interesting tidbit. lots more on the site

When Cain started working at a Minneapolis Burger King in 1982, he cleaned toilets and flipped hamburgers. After completing the management training program in only nine months, Cain was named vice president and general manager for the Philadelphia region of the Burger King Corporation. Attaining this position was particularly special for Cain, considering that he and several friends were refused service in a restaurant in 1952 when they attempted to buy a hamburger.

I just don't think it becomes a reason for Conservatives to reject Daniels. He remains the candidate with the most successful conservative governing record.
