Huckabee Opts Against 2012 White House Bid

That Daniels could beat Obama? Daniels isn't even running yet, and certainly hasn't launched a campaign - but when he does there seems to be pretty strong indications that he'll come out of the gate with quite strong backing money wise and several big-name endorsements. I'm not worried about the polling yet.

You cannot be serious? We have saw what the haters have tried to do to Obama over religion:(

Because he went to church where is Rev said things like God Damn America and is bigoted against white people.

bout to post this in the election forum, but it flows here too:

Daniels Amps Up Fundraising

I really like this last bit:

...Daniels’s fundraising figures attest to his strong connections with major party donors—and their interest in underwriting a future presidential campaign. If Daniels can raise more than $2 million without trying, it's intriguing to consider how much he could bring in if he breaks a sweat.

:D hehehehe... get ready, Mitt. The Blade is coming :)

Turns out Cain is an insider after all.

Was head of Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank.

Introducing Herman Cain - Robert Costa - National Review Online

As his national profile increased, Cain took on a leadership role at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, becoming chairman in 1995. “Spending time at the Federal Reserve was a good learning opportunity for me,” he reflects. “It helped me to understand economic philosophies and polices that I had not previously known about.” For one, he saw up close how monetary policy influences the economy, from inflation to unemployment rates.

As Cain campaigns, he does not run away from his Federal Reserve experience, even as Ron Paul and others call for the institution to be eliminated. Cain would rather mend it than end it, using more congressional oversight. This is not always a crowd-pleasing message on the Des Moines–Manchester circuit. Still, as he makes this case, Cain takes care to do it with tea-party bravado, championing a strong dollar, praising the gold standard, and applauding Paul for his discerning criticism.

I must say, I'm happy about it. Gives my guy Cain a better chance.(I think) Although, curious who Huckabee supporters will migrate to.

He doesn't seem to be too bright. Imagine him even thinking this:

"You want to know why they go after those two ladies more viciously? Because they know that Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin is going to draw a lot of the women vote away from the Democrat party. They are scared to death of that if they were to run and get the nomination. They are doubly scared that a real black man might run against Barack Obama.”
Herman Cain Media Scared | Real Black Man | Obama Not Black | Mediaite

Most Democratic women are smart enough to recognize that neither Palin nor Bachmann are smart enough to even be considered as President of the United States.

Just because many Democratic women wanted Hillary Clinton to win, doesn't mean they want some dumb bimbo to win, just because they are women. That may be true in the Republican party, but Cain is sadly mistaken about the left.

God? no. But I do think he is a bit narcissistic. This is the man who wrote two autobiographies before he was 40, and assured nervous Democrats that the mere magical power of his presence would keep them from recieving a shellacking in 2010 like they had in 1994. Remember how "this is the hour that the sick began to get healed, that the oceans stopped their rise" etc?

Hard to see how he wouldn't be, honestly, given the cult of personality that sprang up around him. You can only be surrounded by that stuff for so long before you begin to internalize it.

I mean, rolling down that list of indicators I can think of specific instances to match many of them.

Ha,ha, Conservatives calling Obama Narcissist, must be due to short memories.

Narcissism = The personality trait of egotism, vanity, conceit, and selfishness.

Egotism = "Mission Accomplished"

Vanity = "This is an impressive crowd, the haves and the have-mores. Some people call you the elite. I call you my base."

Conceit = "I'm the Decider"

Selfishness = “You know, when I campaigned here in 2000, I said, I want to be a war President. No President wants to be a war President, but I am one.”

that and wanting to give the folks on the carrier something to celebrate. coming back, i can tell you, it's very good to have felt that you "did something". makes up for alot of the losses.

Vanity = "This is an impressive crowd, the haves and the have-mores. Some people call you the elite. I call you my base."

interesting. what is the personality trait for quoting someone who is making fun of themselves as though they weren't? dishonesty? or ignorance?

Conceit = "I'm the Decider"

actually that's the billet description - Obama has noted pretty much the same thing. Decisions don't get to the President unless they are the big tough ones.

Selfishness = “You know, when I campaigned here in 2000, I said, I want to be a war President. No President wants to be a war President, but I am one.”

:lol: dude. that's a bushism. It's not selfishness, it's inarticulateness.

I am from central-northern Alabama; about as Deep South as you can get. I can't say that I have ever witnessed anything like what you are describing, and as the son of a minister, I was raised pretty steeped in the religious side of that culture. When my cousin married my best friend who was catholic, i can't recall a single person even commenting on it other than to ask where they would go to church, and who would do the service.

Sadly, many a Georgia Baptist told me that I am not a Christian because I am Catholic...

well I would suggest you come back home, because in my two decades and change there, i never witnessed such a thing. you find plenty of folks who would say that mormonism isn't a branch of christianity... but catholicism? nah.

Georgia is not my home -- and this was about a decade ago -- New Hampshire is where I grew up. I went to Georgia for grad school and felt a lot of bigotry from the Baptists there. I muct prefer the tolerant atmopshere in New Hampshire over what I experienced for six years in Georgia...

Would this count as playing the race card?

Even if you do the wrong thing?

Don't really understand your comparison - I think Bush was both, dishonest and ignorant.

Ha,ha, Obama has never come out and said something as arrogant as this.

:lol: dude. that's a bushism. It's not selfishness, it's inarticulateness.
Spin any way you want, it just showed that not only was he ignorant, he was selfish as well.

It could very well be, he figured that since Obama got elected, this would be one of the ways that Republicans could show they are not racist (by voting for him) - he may be banking on their skewed logic.
