Conservative group sues over bin Laden death photos

"joe public" needs to see the bin ladin pics, just like "joe public" needs to see waterboarding videos.. NOT..

only gore whores would want to see either.. grow up and get over it people.

To flame the fans of hate some more and keep the conservatives movements relevance on the international stage. Conservatives thrive on conflict and "enemies", and showing these pictures will do nothing but flame the hatred towards the US and hence justifying the conservative movements policies and meaning that any GOP presidential candidate can run on the only thing that people still some what trust conservatives on.... national security.

It seems obvious that Europeans have never cared as much about national security as Americans and this can be verified by a quick glance at their bloody history. Europeans are certainly in no position to give border advice to anyone, of course, (as well as economic) but it seems that a generation or so after their bureaucratic bungling and wholly unrealistic expectations, they are finally making an attempt to undo part of the colossal screwup they've created.

To think that they could abolish their borders and just give up their national culture and life style, thinking everyone else would adapt to some mittleEurope secular way of life was ludicrous.

Now it seems the Danes are trying to take back their country, with other nations following close behind.

Some people believe that in a free society all people should see the evidence, not just the chosen few.

I can live without it.

You wanna see a picture of someones face blown off,,, that's probably unrecognizable, you can keep up that dream... Me? I'll worry about better things.

There was no upside to the Abu Ghraib pics and there would be no upside in this instance either.

Perhaps, but this debate isn't about you.

Thanks for sharing that.

Yah and it's not about you either.

I don't see people marching in the streets demanding to see a guys face blown off...

Just Internet peoples with a rather twisted desire.

Are you a forensic expert that can analyze the picture and make sure it's Bin Laden from a blown off face?

Didn't think so.

I didn't realize that withholding footage of special operations units in action was "unlawful" and that doing so causes me "irreparable harm!"

The logic of your post is indisputable, but logic will never stop birthers, deathers, and other nut jobs from their loony tunes conspiracy theories. And Judicial Watch is becoming about as looney tunes as it gets. If they really want to protect the integrity of our legal system, then they should go after Orly Taitz and her frivolous lawsuits.

You think I can call in sick to work today because of all the irreparable harm that has been done to me by not showing me the photos? :D

And if the harm is irreparable, wouldn't that indicate that releasing the photos would not alleviate it, you know, by definition? Check and mate.

You think our government is better in managing, the truth and basic information than the public?

We can only guess at the long term psychological damage done to the many politicians who have seen these photos. It does not bode well for the future.

Not even the wife who was with him on that fatal night in Abbattabad disputes his death.

What is there to "manage" here? OBL is dead.

If you think *100% dead* part seems to be the only thing important here, ok...but not to me.

I'd like to know is... (with all the multiple WH/CIA versions ) there seems to be a good indication that UBL should have been brought in alive. Maybe battered (leg wound) but none the less alive

Able to bring him in alive, or not, I don't think we should have brought him in alive. Obama would have let him have his Miranda Rights and allowed him to lawyer up on the taxpayers's dime and it would have been a complete circus.

Have you ever even been to the United States, or is your knowledge of Americans limited to anti-American bull**** that you read on the internet.

He wasn't talking about Americans, he was talking about conservatives and a lot of Americans agree with him. I, for one, agree with he fact that conservatives thrive on conflict and enemies. The "us vs. them" mentality is one of the foundations of conservative rhetoric.

conservatives tend to see us vs them as the USA vs our enemies

liberals tend to see Us vs them in class warfare terms such as the Libs (even rich ones) constant attempts to demonize "the rich" "oil companies" "wall street" "bankers" CEOS etc in order to win the support of the envious, the unlucky and the untalented

He's talking about American Conservatives. Bashing the United States is his style.

At least the, "them", we talk about isn't the American people.

I don't have a problem with people inside or outside of the United States criticizing Americans anymore than I have a problem with Americans criticizing those in other countries. Both groups can be wrong in their criticisms, but in Pete's case, I think he summed up the loudest part of the American conservative movement pretty well.

I have no doubt about that, apdst....., but theres something here that doesn't jive. I think it would have been better to dig deeper... to go beyond UBL (alive). Just who (or what group) was behind UBL's campaign against the US (both in the US and abroad)

I say *in the US* because we do have enemies inside the US

You think the Conservatives in America, for example, have more serious and unruly demonstrations than those on the Left? Who do you believe the conservative enemies to be?

I didn't say that. I just think PeteEU's characterization of conservatism is accurate. Conservative enemies? I don't know, but xenophobia does seem to pour out of the conservative movement.
