Furious bin laden supporters vow to take revenge

Ok, where did you hear this big stinking pile of horse****? 7 TERABYTES? DO you have any inkling how much data that is? I want a source for that bit of "news".

Well damn. This says 2.7 Terabytes. That's a LOT. Source: 2.7 terabytes of data recovered from bin Laden compound - CBS News Investigates - CBS News It was off multiple boxes and decks, so there may be duplication. Lots of it was encrypted.

Either way, not bad for a prick that demanded others to do without modern conveniences.

Did he say that? Al'Qaeda has alway used the net for recruiting, comms, intel (target research), etc. It is easy to get free secure chat: X-IM: Free Encrypted Instant Messaging & Chat.

Of course, it's no UHF SATCOM solution for high in the mountains with a handheld sat radio. Of course, it looks like congress will be cutting funding for our system...

Bring..... it..... on..... :gunsmilie:

Seriously though, how well do you think this would go down in NYC?

The article is hard to believe. This isn't just people exercising free speech, when people make comments like Abu Muaz did in the article, that's reason to be put on the terror watch list... lol. and he should be. I mean, are the people who are really plotting anything going to go out in the streets and announce it?

This may not be the proper thread to comment on this, but I was blown away when I saw it on CNN. Did anyone else know that there was a SEAL dog used in the raid? Seriously, the pooch had body armor, a video camera and an ear bug to hear remote commands. CNN showed training video of the canine in full battle gear being lowered from a chopper with his human handler.

I was stunned! I had no idea our special ops teams had canine units!

Army Special Forces teams have been using dogs since Vietnam.

So, the violent extremists are going to try to launch attacks in retaliation for the assassination of Bin Laden?

and, if we hadn't taken out that piece of dog manure, they would have done what, exactly? Become peaceful and productive?

Exactly! Which makes me wonder why people think that we can curtail Muslim violence by not offending them.

I think we should go out of our way to offend and ridicule them.

Me too. That way, more of them would expose themselves and we could kill them.

Well, I am not so much interested in killing them, as I think the only way to win an ideological war is on the ideological battlefield. But I am all about giving them **** until their heads explode. I mean what is so freaking sacrilegious about a cartoon lambasting Mohammad (PBUH)? Do they think God gets offended? LOL! It seems more likely that the people offended are exhibiting pride in their religion, a sin against God.

These cats are crazed fanatics. You're not going to persuade them out of hating us.

These people aren't real Muslims, anyway--at least that's what we've been hearing from the Islamo-pologists for 10 years. Since they're not real Muslims, who gives a rat's ass if we offend them?

I don't think the ideological battlefield is the minds of those who have already chosen to be fanatics. Ok, sure, there may be a small percentage that decide to amend their ways, but **** them, they are unimportant due to their minuscule numbers (although good propaganda sources for the real battlefield). No, in my mind the real battlefield are all the quiet, low-key Muslims, who avoid the radicals, say their prayers, concerned about discrimination and groups like the EDL, want jobs and cheap food AND POLITICAL FREEDOMS. They are not in Germnay, France, Belgium, Holland or England (or the US). They are in the ME/NA. They are the ones who rose up, FINALLY, in Tunisia and Egypt (and elsewhere). They are the moderate youths opposed to the autocracies. Osama was primarily against the autocracies and thought a Caliphate would replace them. Our hand has always been that Democracy is a third alternative. The danger now is the non-militant radicals, like the MB, stealing the thunder of the secular democrats.

This is why I say that killing Osama is a side show. The battlefield has fundamentally changed these past 10 years, these past 4 months.

I suggest we help orchestrate massive gatherings... of tens, or hundreds of thousands of these idiots and then bomb the crap out of these assemblies.

Operation Dust Bin.

.

Ghadaffi would be proud of you. Rename the mission "operation hypocrite".

The reports now are that only one BG fired on the seal team, he was subdued early on and the team then went through the property whacking the rest then took UBL's body, burned it, and dumped it into the ocean...

Reports from where? Link, please.

they remind me of the people who get their red white and blue panties in a bunch because someone burns a flag. do they think the flag gets offended?

both as stupid as each other.

I have to say it again but didn't some of these nuts bars claim Osama was still alive?

That being the case revenge for what.

I say the best possible outcome was Osama being killed, to keep Eric Holder from letting him go.

Holder is a worthless jerk.

The city's tallest building is currently the 102-story Empire State Building, in midtown Manhattan, the basic structure of which, completed in 1931, rises 1,250 feet (381 meters), increased to 1,454 feet (443 m) by its superstructures.

Oh well! So goes terrorism, huh?

Can you link me to a source where Americans have rioted and killed because some fool in or out of the USA decided to protest by burning a flag? I'll wait...

Dumbed-down version indeed, replete with fabricated supposition of things that supposedly happened during the raid and after the raid that have not been supported by any official channels. Much of it is, dare I say, speculative fiction since the events described are unknowable to any but the SEAL team itself. And even so, there was no support of your statement:
The reports now are that only one BG fired on the seal team, he was subdued early on and the team then went through the property whacking the rest then took UBL's body, burned it, and dumped it into the ocean...

There have been no official reports that only one person fired on the assault team, or that only one person confront them armed. There is no confirmation in your linked source that bin Laden's body was burned and "dumped" into the ocean. There is no confirmation that the team "whacked the rest", i.e. everyone else in the house, and in fact it was indicated that other than the males who were shot or the female caught in the crossfire, the rest of the household was alive when the Pakistanis arrived.

So I ask again: Please provide a link that reports bin Laden's body was burned and "dumped" into the ocean.

Damn, and I thought they were going to bake us a cake. Crafty bastards.

I totally agree. To me it is a symbol of freedom to BURN the flag. I mean if you can't be disrespectful of the sacred, what's left?

lol while you are waiting perhaps you should read what was said again. i never mentioned the rioting or killing of anyone.

my reply..

what i did insinuate was i can see a parallel between some Americans insane calls to bomb a country because some people are burning US flags........and radical Islamist fatwas against those who draw funny pics of their prophet....both completely insane.

They got angry at pictured insulting their prophet? They act like that guy was for real or something...

People annoyed at their flag being burned reminds you of wild riots over cartoons where people were actually murdered???

No sense of proportion whatsoever.

Yeah, so that's what I agreed with. Both sides are calling for violence against the innocent. There are cases where Islamists carry through and murder a filmmaker in Holland I think it was...and there are westerners who beat up and discriminate against Muslims. I do think the reactions are out of proportion with each other. The fact that we went to war and innocents got killed is different. We did not *target* innocents.
