[R.I.P.] (REVERSE RIP) Osama Bin Laden is Dead

Dear Osama,

All your base are belong to us.....

I was surprised how much emotion I feel about this news.

I had thought bin Laden was really not that important anymore. But I find now with the President's announcement tonight that the man who brought about the brutal deaths of so many Americans and other innocents around the world, has been dispatched by American fire this day, I feel very, very gratified.

I was shocked at my clapping and later jumping up and down. I mean someone is dead and I am happy about it. When I heard? It was like something inside called JOY took over that lead me to clap.:)

Me too. I still feel a bit in shock, but I didn't think I'd be this emotional about it. I guess it takes me back to 9/11.

What a night. I don't want to go to sleep, actually.

When the crowd was singing "Hey hey hey, goodbye" I got goosebumps. Amazing night. I wish I could be there with them.

Or...May Day

May Day occurs on May 1 and refers to several public holidays.[1] In many countries, May Day is synonymous with International Workers' Day, or Labour Day, a day of political demonstrations and celebrations organised by communists, anarchists, socialists, unionists, and other activist groups. May Day is also a traditional holiday in many cultures.

[...]

May Day was also celebrated by some early European settlers of the American continent. In some parts of the United States, May Baskets are made. These baskets are small and usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someone's doorstep. The basket giver would ring the bell and run away. The person receiving the basket would try to catch the fleeing giver. If they caught the person, a kiss was to be exchanged.[citation needed]
Modern May Day ceremonies in the U.S. vary greatly from region to region and many unite both the holiday's "Green Root" (pagan) and "Red Root" (labor) traditions.[23] Among the largest is the May Day Parade and Pageant created by In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, an event that has happened every year since 1975 in Minneapolis and now attracts some 35,000 people.
May 1 also is recognized in the U.S. as Law Day.

Hitler was killed on the 30th of April

It is however the anniversary of the Bush declaring Mission Accoplished

The RIP should be removed as it is innappropriately being used.

Also, Obama has more blood on his hands than Osama in terms of the death and destruction that the organizations over which they preside have caused. Just sayin!

Can nobody ever have a happy moment without someone trying to make them feel guilty? This is one reasons I felt so confused and maybe even guilty about my being HAPPY over this. YES I SAID HAPPY! Some people are always trying to make folks feel bad over anything and this is why so many damn people are on meds and have to see doctors.

Osama Bin Laden deserved death. You HEAR ME? DEATH and this is good that he is dead. You let all of us have our moment and stop trying to bash Obama. Please.

Yeah, I am still a bit torn about my happiness because you don't usually react with joy when hearing about a death. My brain is confused.

That's why I said "announced." I don't think we actually know that this was done today, do we?

From the Speech: Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.

Be happy for everyone tonight who feels a sense of closure -- everyone who lost someone on 9/11.

The thousands of people now gathered around ground zero... and the WH.

It's being reported he was shot in the head, that's extra XP if you don't know ;)

This is what victory tastes like. Savor it, for this is as close as most of us are ever going to get.

Not sure it was this thread, but somebody said Obama owed it to Bush to notify him of this accomplishment - and he did.

Former President George W. Bush

Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001. I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude. This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.
