I understand that you believe that since they think they really are female and they live life as a female and they had their male sex organ modified to appear otherwise, that they are female.

I disagree. They were born a male and they will die a male. Upon close investigation, it can be determined that they are still inhabiting a male's body. Wether someone is male or female can not be changed just because they wish it so. Some things are simply impossible to be changed

BTW, this conversation reminds me of when I used to folow DemocraticUnderground.com. There was a guy or girl (can't recall for certain) that believed he/she was an animal (I think it was a panther, but could be wrong) trapped inside a human body - species identification disorder, basically.

He had all kinds of surgeries and was featured on his local news for everything he had done to change his appearance. He insisted he wasn't a human, but just an animal. No matter how he lived, what he did to his body or what he wanted to be called, he was still a human. He may very well have found that disrespectful, but sometimes reality is truly a harsh mistress.

I have no doubt that I will be called all kinds of names for giving the appearance of comparison between the two cases, but so be it.

Well, it is sort of a false analogy, but that's not really the point.

This is a woman who you could have sex with without realizing she was born with a Y chromosome. She has gone through so much because she simply cannot identify with the sex assigned her at birth.

I think she's done enough to earn the right to be called "she."

A side question, what would you call someone born with both sex organs who chose to have one removed? Would that person be called by the pronoun they identified with, or simply "it"?

Sex, Gender (two different things btw) and all that is incredibly complex and trying to make it fit into Black and White definitions is a massive oversimplification of things.

What did he do other then decide he wants to sleep with men and have enough money to have surgery and injections? Or is that all it takes in your view?

Wouldn't we call em Jamie Lee Curtis? ;)

When someone is a male, they are a he. When someone is female, they are she. Sometimes things really can be that black and white. Relativism, in this regard, is for the birds.

No one just decides "hey I want to be a woman, I'm going to go get hormones, and have a surgery to change my body" Like I said you have no understanding of GID, and transgender people. Gender identity disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Read up on GID, it will help your understanding. Also being trans has nothing to do with sexuality, it just involves gender. There are straight trans people, lesbian transwomen, and gay transmen.

And she is a female, there is no denying that.

Decision, compulsion, whatever, I don't care and it's completely irrelvant. He has basically put on a costume. A costume that will last his entire life, but is still temporary. Wearing a costume temporarily doesn't change the underlying facts of what you are. Taken long term, as i've already contended and hopefullly demonstrated, he is a he.

BTW, you realize we are basically arguing over what defines a man or woman. You argue it's the way he lives and the organ he has (pipe organ or electric organ). I argue that it is much deeper then that. This is a question that goes back quite some time and is unliekly to be solved here.

The moral of this story? If you are going to cut off your pee pee, learn how to fight. :ssst:

I have to agree. We got some work ahead of us if some will insist a woman is still a man even after going through the whole process of changing genders.

Speaking as a conservative, I'd rather he went into the women's restroom. Seriously, he's a woman all the way, at least that's what I've been told. Now, can we get back to the McDonald's story?

It's really not all that complex. Black and White definitions tend to "oversimplify" most any concept. We make lexical distinctions where semantic distinctions are judged important.

You may believe there is no meaningful difference between someone who is born female and "identifies" with that role vs. someone who was born male, identifies as a female, and has a sex-change operation - but others certainly do. There's no objective right or wrong to using "he" or "she" - it really just comes down to what society deems appropriate.

There is a HUGE racial component to this.

Notice how the employees - all black - just give kind of a passing "help" to this girl, who is convulsing by the end of this beating. These two black females just keep returning again and again to continue the beating, while the employees just watch.

The camera operator actually warns the attackers that the police are on the way, and that they should hurry up and leave. Incredible.

It takes an older white lady to come in and offer any kind of helpful resistance.

This is a prime example of why I get so disgusted at how the racist tag is so liberally thrown at white people, and how it's almost taboo to discuss in the opposite manner. In my opinion, racism is more deeply rooted and practiced in the black community, both toward whites and Hispanics, than it is in whites.

While not a mainstream news source, there is nothing more "newsy" than actual video, and the recent trend of these attacks in fast-food restaurants, I thought, made it breaking news worthy.

What started the fight?

The Springfield certainly is more comfortable, not only because the weapon you show is a full size, compared to my pic of a compact, but the Springfield's grip isn't as angled as Glock.

...which is why I carry an XD and not a glock. ;)

This one is the one I use , it can go through a few more plates than a 9mm.although for home defense the shot beats all, and this is the preferred weapon of choice in this regards, not to mention it's great for varmints.

I'm not sure a shotgun would be practical to carry into McDonalds.

I would be in the market for a slim .45 meant for concealed carry....does Springfield make something similar to the Glock36?

You might like the XD 45 Compact. 10+1 cap, 4" barrel, 7 1/4" overall length and just under 2 lbs. Easily controllable and great accuracy. It's a carry gun that's actually a pleasure to shoot at the range, and it absolutely disappears in a Crossbreed Supertuck holster. :)

You guys better hope the FBI isn't watching you talk about taking .45's and shotguns into McDonalds.

Shotgun for home defense, I screwed the editing up on the last post.

I carried my .38 into a McDonald's the other day; I carried it into Wall-Mart a couple hours ago.

Problem?
