More than enough signatures have been collected in an effort to recall Republican Wisconsin state Sen. Sheila Harsdorf, organizers announced Monday.

Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesman Graeme Zielinski said a petition will be filed with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board on Tuesday. While he didn't have a total signature count Monday afternoon — signatures were still coming in — Zielinski said the number is well over the 15,744 needed.

4 down and 4 to go, although I believe that only 5 or possibly 6 out of the 8 will end up being recalled. Still, considering the difficulty of recall in Wisconsin, this is a very impressive number - Which goes to show you that, if you are elitist enough to believe that you can do anything you want after being elected, and act like thugs while doing it, you are going to be hammered for it.

Folks, THIS is what Democracy looks like.

Elitists? Thugs? Did you say the same thing about Democrats and Obama when they forced the health care law through in similar fashion?

Democracy is a messy think pal. How did the democrats force the health care law down our throats again? Did they really force it down? Obama campaigned on it for two years!! Walker did not campaign on getting rid of labor rights and collective bargaining rights.. Obamacare was not some surprise legislation like Walkers "budget bill"..

They have enough signatures to force recall elections on at least 2 democrats (Holperin and Wurch) and i've been hearing that they have enough for a third.

Based on how the districts of the senators that have enough signatures to force recall elections voted in the recent supreme court race, I would not be at all surprised by a net gain of 1 for republicans.

There was a big article that came out today (I can't find it at the moment) discussing the recall election chances based on the recent elections in 2011, 2010, 2008 and 2006. They had two democrats and two republicans in the "likely to be recalled" column.

It was at a big political website, but I can't remeber the name at the moment. If I can find it again, i'll post it.

The US isn’t a democracy and neither is Wisconsin. They are both constitutional republics.

I really must laugh at you right now though. You are working overtime defending Hugo (the expropriator) Chavez in another thread as a non-elitist, non-thug “defender of the people” and jump in here to claim that the events that occurred in Wisconsin were the result of elitist thuggary?

You are always entertaining my friend.

I'll believe it when they've been recalled. The petition is one thing...the vote's another. Ya' know, I'm pretty cynical, and I've read that petition signers were told they were signing to recall the Dem14 (15?) running-shoes guys. It ain't over 'til it's over... ;)

Defying the will of the overwhelming majority of We The People.............Welcome to Tyranny........

Did they really force it down? Obama campaigned on it for two years!!

He didnt campaign on a subprime healthcare program to nowhere.......which is what he delivered.

Walker did not campaign on getting rid of labor rights and collective bargaining rights..

....and he didnt......in regards to their bloated salaries.

Obamacare was not some surprise legislation like Walkers "budget bill"..

Nov. 2,2010--The Largest Political Ass Whooping in History.......shows Obama is full of surprises.......once you get past all the Kenyan excrement.

The US is a democratic republic my friend. Democracies and republics overlap.. Republics are a representative government. How democratic they are depends on their structure and participation. Democracy just means all people have some say in government. A representative democracy is a kind of republic. What distinguishes a republic is that it has an elected government. Representative democracies are, therefor, a kind of republic. Self-appointed governments such as monarchies, dictatorships, oligarchies, theocracies and juntas are not republics. We are a representative democracy which is a form of a republic but not a pure democracy...

I never claimed that "my friend".... I simply claimed democracy is a messy thing...

Tell me how Obamacare is cruel and an oppressive rule again?
Did it pass through democratic means?
Would the Patriot Act be tyranny?

He didnt campaign on a subprime healthcare program to nowhere.......which is what he delivered.
Your right he campaigned on a public option which got dropped.....

....and he didnt......in regards to their bloated salaries.

Yep your right teachers salaries are way to high! Firefighter salaries are way to high! Cops salaries through the roof!
You do realize that the Unions agreed to the salaries cut just as long as they got to have their collective bargaining rights still..... Just saying obviously was not about a budget just another union busting bill. This bill went against the will of the people! Is this tyranny!?!?

You really ought to study less Venezuelan and Cuban political science and do a little more studying of American political science.

North Korea is a democratic republic, East Germany was a democratic republic, Congo is a democratic republic but the USA is not a democratic republic, it is a constitutional republic.

Thanks for the attempted history/political science lesson just the same.

Oh I see, you are only here to tell us "democracy is a messy thing"? Ok....point made.....see you around....don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out and thanks for the tip.

Its incredibly inspiring to see people holding their politicians feet to the fire for their actions! Maybe there is hope for Democracy! :sun

Elitists? Thugs? Did you say the same thing about Democrats and Obama when they forced the health care law through in similar fashion?

No, he agreed with them.

They bette rhurry, if Wisc. passes a Voter ID Law the recall is dead.

Democracy and Socialist don't go together.

Not a believer in public water systems then? Or our highway system? Or our military system? Or our police system? etc, etc, etc.

Well the faster the recall the faster WI we go insolvent and then it really doesn't matter who is in charge, perhaps this will be a good thing. It will force the government to react in a extreme way..bankruptcy and then all those contracts will be voided out completely. It may take 1 year it may take 5 or whatever. WI isn't alone with this issue, just about every state has this problem and when the dollar loses most of it's value in the world market, this is when the states will free fall.

Elitists? Thugs? Did you say the same thing about Democrats and Obama when they forced the health care law through in similar fashion?

That's the problem with liberals, they don't want to apply the law equally.
