GOP insiders embrace Trump's Presidential bid

Trump really is not a good candidate. The GOP have no one. Although Trump is MUUUUUUCH better than Palin!

Trump will plummet in the polls like Palin did. Once they try to get him to actually debate and say what he stands for, he'll be a deer caught in the headlights. He is just getting attention because of the outrageous **** he is saying right now.

Are these the best the GOP has to offer today?

This really takes the cake. Trump and Palin. America is one big Disneyland, that is all

Ask yourself if the current system works for you....then ask yourself who the system DOES work for.

My perception is that it works for career politicians. I think it works for the unproductive, who happen to be good at paperwork. And I think it works for the couple thousand people in America who could truly be described as "wealthy". And it falls off from there.
You forgot the lobbying groups

You forgot the lobbying groups

The law has gotten so complex that we need lawyers to interpret it for us. It's not coincidental that virtually all politicians are now lawyers.

Lawyers have become, the Samurai class of America, without all the pesky rules and ethics that the feudal Japanese Samurai had to navigate. And that, in and of itself a bad thing

Well OK. Let's at least vote for somebody different.

Oh, I think it will be a colorful GOP primary.................. I look forward to it!

Really if I had to vote for any Republican candidate it would be Ron Paul. I may not agree with everything the guy says, but at least I agree with something he says. Donald Trump will not run it just isn't possible. When does this season for Apprentice end? When that ends he will say what he was actually up to, maybe get a show on Fox Business who knows.

Trump has certain advantages for now which will fail him in the long run. 1. He's getting media attention by making idiotic statements that the media feel compelled to report on. The media will always report on controversy over common sense. 2. People think he's smart because he's wealthy. His intelligence is in making money. He has stepped outside his zone of expertise, and the results are obvious to those more sophisticated about the issues than Trump is. Soon enough the less sophisticated will catch on. 3. He has personality traits which initially fascinate but soon enough simply irritate. He would do well as an opiner on Fox or MSNBC, but would soon bore of it. He loves the attention and once that fades he'll fade.

Whether that is true or not, we do still hold the power. We can overthrow the government withut firing a shot. It does require we exercise that power, and hopefully find a way to be informed, but the power is still ours to exercise.

Oh, so IOW, if you don't keep your socialist wet dream going, because it looses in a vote of the people, you will overthrow the government? You're listening to too much Francis Fox Piven pal.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you have missed the point/been whooshed.
In any case, your "IOW" seems to be very different from what was said.

Ask yourself what power Americans hold that they can use can change their govt w/o firing a shot if we exercise it.

J, first, there is no socialist wet dream. Please try ot use a more orignial scare tactic.

Second, I will always try to use my power at the polls, as should you. Are you suggesting I should do something else?

He is the best so far that has said they are running I hope one of the Pauls runs for president...be nice a Trump/Paul or Paul/Bachmann ticket

Do you believe that America is a great nation?

j-mac

"Great nations" have a great health care system for their people, and take care of their other needs, not spend money murdering people all over the world

I'm not saying it hasn't been used. I'm saying that it rings fake to me lately since it is primarily used for a political strategy and not because of a genuine love for this country.

I'm sick to death of the anti-patritotism to be honest.
I'd rather see thousands of American flags carried by what you might call "fakes" than one "real" anti-American who says he wipes his ass with it every day.
We have a few people in politics who have a genuine love of this country and I pray we elect one in 2012.
I'm sick of a president who leaves any doubt about something that should be fundamental to the presidency.

Exactly. Thank you for bringing that up, actually. It is very ironic indeed.

If Trump built a manufacturing plant that specialized in American Flags, hired tons of people, he might get my vote.

Just like Onumbnuts.

Trump and Obama
Both narcissists

Welcome to Narcissism 101

Someone with Narcissistic Personality disorder (NPD) has at least 5 of these symptoms:

has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

requires excessive admiration

has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends

lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

I wouldn't even call it anti-patriotism. I'd call it disengenuous patriotism. Frankly, to me, genuine patriotism is about far more than waving a Chinese made flag from Walmart, but feel free to have your own view. Why there would be any doubt of a President's patriotism is just beyond me. It seems to me that a person who is anti-patriotism would want to be anything but the President.

Maybe it's time for a major political reform. A clean slate. But how?...

We've got about 250 million firearms! Perhaps that's the real reason behind the 2nd Ammendment?

Oh yes, this thread wouldn't be complete without a right-winger advocating treason and sedition. I can't say I'm surprised.

Oh, so you have to have wealth redistribution to be a great nation?
